Axe by far if you are going against casters, sword possibly could be better against other warriors.
Axe's Disrupting Chop, Dismember, Axe Rake combo works great against monks who like to run in circles. It's hard enough to heal yourself with Deep Wound, but add to that the complexity of losing some of your healing spells for 20 seconds and being crippled...that's just waiting for the knockout punch with the other high damage axe skills (Executioner's Strike/Penetrating Blow/Cleave). It's all adrenaline based as well, so, once you get them charged up, you don't have to worry about the energy drain that mesmers put on you.
I find these builds have a hard time against sword warriors, though, mainly because of sever artery, gash and final thrust combos. Too many options to disrupt in a long drawn out tank versus tank battle.

Eviscerate is nice, but man the cost is really high. I would rather have Cleave to have an immediate attack to use over and over again and replace an energy-based attack like Power Attack.

100% agree.
My 16 hammer 12 strength deals out way way way way way more dmg then aftershock. But 95% ppl disagree because they want to uber leet aftershock.

Nice - hadn't seen that thread. Love the analysis...what I find is that I am too damb impatient to wait for that fifth hit to use eviscerate. When you're fighting a caster, you're likely going to get 3 shots in before he starts running. Cleave would be #2 on that shot, meaning that you'd miss out on the fifth shot until you actually caught up to him several times with Sprint.
Later in the fight - I wholeheartedly agree that Eviscerate would be much better, and would free up a slot (versus Cleave + Dismember). However, to start, you would have to wait a long time (which you may not have in a PvP setting) to use that skill.
A cure for this might be taking on one of the inevitable warriors that will be in the group in PvP, and, after your adrenaline gets charged, then going after the casters. A risky strategy - I'll have to think about this more...

so true damage goes into the 80 - 125 range and once the knock down combo starts most ppl cant get away.

Kd/as gets you into groups faster. Main reason. Sad but true.
