Weapons question: Physical or Elemental?
Playing a Warrior most of my PvP time, I was wondering whether putting an elemental upgrade on your weapon actually causes disavantages instead of advantages.
Since most characters wear "vs. Elemental" armor as opposed to "vs. Physical" armor these days, and Elemental weapons do not give any sort of armor penetration, is there any point to wielding an Elemental weapon IF your purpose is to do more damage?
EDIT: I have briefly skimmed over SonOfRah's works, but... briefly skimmed is briefly skimmed.

Seems to me the best thing would be to run physical damage against casters and rangers and elemental against warriors based on their armor sets. Granted, there's exceptions like Judge's armor on Monks.

Physical against all but other warriors... which basically means physical 98% of the time.

The only reason to use elemental weapons is for conjure. Physical dmg is affected by beneficial nec enchants (order of blood and vampire) and hexes(barbs and weaken armor), so it's better. Also like you said, most people resist elemental effects on their armor, not to mention the fact that there are two wards which specifically affect elemental damage and none that affect physical.
Using an elemental weapon also gives up your weapon hilt, and a +5 vamp mod will more than make up for any physical resist you encounter (it ignores armor).

I'm not sure if Elemental damage affects the 'Ward against Melee' evading. If it doesn't, only reason why'd you go for Elemental damage would be conjure or triggering Mark of Rodgort (Or so).

Physical Please, I hate carrying Order of the Vampire{E} + Order of Pain and all of the warrior I group with are using fire swords...ridiculous.
Another reason to use elemental would be if you can enchant yourself to do more dmg with fire sword for ex.

Ward against melee effects attacks in general, it doesn't have to do with damage type.
Mark of rodgort can be triggered for its whole duration with as little as a holy rod, hardly a reason to gimp yourself with an elemental weapon.
This leave one reason and one reason only to carry an elemental weapon, and that's conjuring. So, to all you w/mo's with fiery dragons out there, find a better weapon PLEASE. The necromancers with thank you for it.
