You forgot "Ether renewal" and almost always "Aura of restoration".

If you're going to post something stupid atleast try to get the build right. It also isn't that much trouble to take the time and make sure that you've actually spelled the skills correctly as well.

Why nerf smite because it's not creative?

I don't have a problem with class balancing, but you can't just nerf something because it's being abused in PvP. There IS another HUGE part of the game called PvE. Nerf Ether Renewal and the problem is solved-at least for PvP. But then PvE suffers...
I think this has been beaten to death here on these forums. Also there have been countless threads about countering smite builds in PvP. There's a number of ways to beat this so why don't you read up and put that knowledge to good use instead posting the same thing that's already been said 1000X since the last update.
Or *gasp* you can come up with your own UBER build that nobody can seem to be beat...Then everybody can cookie-cutter your build until everybody is doing it, then somebody will scream "NERF!" and "Unbalanced!" until Anet finally gives in, then you will be sitting on the other side of this argument (pretty pissed off I'm sure) because your awesome creativity just got crapped on because it was "unfair".

maybe this is a lame question, and i am not in favor of having ANYTHING nerfed, unless its some kind of exploit....... maybe because i am not a pvp player. but if you are running a build for the sole purpose of countering another, doesnt that get old after a while? like i said i dont do pvp so i dont know how many smites there are on any given team, is it like whole groups of 8 running the same build? if it is, do you need to run a full team of counter builds to beat them? what happens if you run a build specifically to counter smite, and you come across some other team, do you just get totally pwned or what?

smiting is not overpowered at all. Ether renewal is overpowered for sure.

None of these skills are overpowered... The only reason natures renewal got nerfed was because it was an instant universal enchantment and hex removal, meaning that it was virtually impossible to run a build that relied on enchantments. However, Well of the Profane, Rend Enchantments and various other forms of enchantment removal are still available. This means that it's not mass enchantment removal that was the problem, it was the ease with which Natures Renewal could accomplish this. (Esspecially along with all the other spirits.)
You don't like the fact that someone is using ehter renewal? Shatter it. Rend it. Drag them through a Well of the Profane. Someone spamming draw conditions? Give them a Diversion. Cast Arcane Conundrum on them.
If you can't think of a way to beat all the smite builds you know you'll find in the tombs then you don't deserve to win the HoH in the first place.

You see Smite in every game? Then I'd like you to meet my friend. He's called Lingering Curse, and he loves to see Smite every game.
..think about it. There's a build you think you're guaranteed to fight every round - then bring something that is guaranteed to counter that build, or at least shut it down. Problem solved.

I don't know why you thought this was appropriate for the strategy forum- it's not.
If you want to discuss the reasons why you think smiting is so common, or what makes it powerful, that's the sort of topic that should be posted here- and it already is.
Look around and see the other already popular threads on the same subject. We don't need another one, especially one that's another complaint about complaining. Have an observation backed by some research/analysis? Post it. Just want to add your voice to the many? Use an existing thread.
Closed.
