Rending Smiters
Just wondering. When 'Rend Enchantments' is used on a smiter, whoever did the rending would surely take a substancial amount of damage considering there are so many monk enchants on the E/Mo, right?
I was in HoH yesterday and came across an IWAY build that completely destroyed us, apparently without taking much of a scratch. While I was down, I noticed their necro in the background with almost always between 5-25% life (shame nobody else noticed this ). Would it be safe to assume he was doing the rending on our smiters?
Also, is it possible to suicide with Rend or will it spare you with 1 life if you do a big rend...?

I doubt he was smiting at all, he was probably spamming the 3 necro party enchantments. Dark fury (double adren per hit for 5 seconds), Order of Pain (increase physical damage for 5 seconds), Order of the vampire (life steal for 5 seconds). Each of those necro spells requires him to sac life as he does it, that is why he was that low most likely.

Yeah that would make sense. But is it possible to commit suicide with sacrificing too much? Also it seemed like our smiting wasn't hurting at all. Maybe he had a combo of party enchants and rend going...
Either way, if he managed to stay in the 5-25% life range with the amount of sacrifices he was doing, I guess he was just a good sacrificer ^^

probably a nec/r using troll ungent. The recharge on rending is just not worth it to try and knock out 3-4 monk enchantments, espically when he has no healer. He would more then likely have well of profane instead, that way when one of the warriors/pets die (like they are suppose to) he can prop up one well to kill and prevent all enemy enchantments within it's range.

Yeah, I saw a lot of Profanes yesterday, and as a Prot monk they were a real pain.

it is easily posible to kill yourself with sacrifices. try the elite energy spell (Blood is power or blood ritual) 3 times

That was your problem. in an IWAY Build the necro is the key person - one warrior should have run off to him and kill him.
Every IWAY build needs a necro - but a necro can stay back very far, so sometimes you need to search him.

I Will Avenge You! ftw again? Eats smite teams and other teams for dinner again?!
Hmm... Perhaps I should consider an IWAY build for my warrior, just for laughs...

Most IWAY builds are crap when versing a team that prepares for the metagame. There are a few though that are a lot stronger than meets the eye, so don't underestimate them too fast.
Btw the max rend can rend is capped at 8 unless for some very odd reason you go above 12 curses. Even that will only do 320 damage to you which is deadly but not instant kill. Btw smiters generally will only have 3-4 enchants on them anyway.
