Some people are just new to the game, or don't understand the finer points of strategy. That doesn't seem like a good reason to shun them, but rather give them advice on how to not suck.

Some people do not have any skills learned yet and want to test out some pre-made PvP characters. Let's not make them give up on this game and go play something single player where they don't have to deal with being harassed.

Well, the particular one I'm thinking of, when I commented that he might want to run something else in that slot, responded "I use mending because it rocks, you noob!"

Did anyone in here say W/Mos are noob? No. W/Mos that use Mending in PVP are noob. I think we can all agree on that. The only uses for Mending are for running places or soloing weak monsters.

I've got another discussion to offer.
Do not resurrect, heal, buff, mend, restore, or hex-strip anyone who flames others for their build.
Discuss.

Seriously, if you take the competion arenas that seriously it is your own problem. Most of the persons you auto-team with you'll NEVER see again so what is the problem about a mending warrior? I've seen many a two teams do quite well even with a Mending Warrior or two.
And i've seen many a two partys fail with your average Hammer (W/E) Warrior or the typical W/N Axe Warrior, or even worse the W/R Axe Warrior... Does it matter? You win some, you lose some and if you really want a persistent winning streak head over to the Team Arenas and form your own party.

This strikes me as funny, personally. I get more consistent 10+ win streaks from random arena parties than from team arena parties now. Sure, you'll often get the occasional total noob in random, but that's to be expected. But surprisingly, you get a lot of noobs in team arenas, and you can actually waste more time trying to get a "decent" party together in team than you would just by clicking go in random. Not to mention that some of the better players use random as a means to farm faction when they don't have enough for tombs/gvg or whatever.
The only time I'd ever bother with team arenas now was if we were forming a guild group. Whenever I get a party full of very competent people from random, we go on a rampage of 10+ mostly flawlesses (or close to flawless) until someone inevitably has to leave for some reason or other.

Dont sweat it guys. Some jerks take their gaming too seriously and just have no clue how to help others instead of hurling insults. I guess that just comes from doing nothing but sitting in front of their computers all day with no real social interaction.

ive been noticing that too. the random ones usually end around 12 when you hit the semi decent team arenas one =/

GOOD ONE LOL...
I'm sorry, but ANY w/mo I've run into into the arenas who uses mending says it helps with their weapon dealing more dmg or what not. [idiots dont' know about Strength of Honor!?!]
I'm with the OP as well. Not only are they nubs, they are STUPID freakin' noobs because every single one of them I've played with ALWAYS casts it on themselves, and when I POLITELY ask, "Why are you doing that when you can cast it on me who's a mesmer?" they always bite back with some retarded know it all remark like, "So I live longer!"...
I for one have stopped bringing res sigs into random arenas now due to massive stupidity moving about. I figured best to kill them before they kill you and if everyone on my team brings res sig [which is always the case in random], we're gonna lose anyway if we need to use all of them, ah well...
But yes, W/Mo stop using mending on yourself...
Oh wait how about...
EVERYONE NEVAR USE MENDING CAUSE IT STINKS!!!

lol whats the hype about mending in a 4-4 setting anyway, its probably not even that bad there. like no one debuffs and for a stance heavy warrior it could be nice. (there was that iQ build which was like all stances and mending or something)
and yes there are those annoying surviving wamos that just wont die unless the entire team sits on them. just depends on what you want to do, if you plan on being an actual tank mending probably isnt that bad. but if you plan on hurting people it isnt the way to go.
and in tombs mending is just retarded, i agree. but im not sure its that useless in 4-4...

first off...it's random arena. Build's meant to be self reliant arent such a crazy concept when entering into that craziness of random.
While you may see it as you should recieve the mending on your armor 60 character, because your awesome and he is "noob", keep in mind that his 80-85 (95-100 vs physical) armor in conjunction with 3 pip's of regen will probably keep him alive long enough to cast res sig on you when you die.
While Strength of Honor will increase his melee damage it will not increase his survivability, which is every bit as important in random arena. If he really wanted to increase his damage go with a war/ele and use a conjure instead of SoH.
Determining that a skill or tactic is lame because you don't agree with it was the reason why America exsists today. (OMG, those oppressed people are not standing in a line and shooting at us, they are firing from the trees! CHEATERS, HAXORZ!, LAMERZ!, NOOBZ!)

But... It's mending!! ;_;
Self-Reliant should be something you know, more useful...
Of all the skills in the skill lines, Mending is right up there with Mind Wrack and Wastrel's Worry [after reading and looking at the numbers...]
Hall of Shame Skills
I'd put mending up there as being one of if not THE worst skill in the game. It's like the Cleave vs. Eviscerate debate.
It's one thing to call people a noob, and another thing to just be one. Warrior is last one standing with or without mending about 90% of the time. Unless of course, you're fighting people who think warrior should be targetted first by the entire team...
So yeah, due to the fact that the meta-game will never be truely reached due to people who don't know how to play 'correctly', mending is STILL bad...

The reason that Random Arena win streaks can go on so long, despite the prevelance of Self-Mending W/Mos (Or Idiots for short) is because the other team is random too. Chances are that their Idiot is using mending as well.
A time or two, I've had to tell a Monk to remove Mending from me because I wasn't really going to be a target, and they needed that extra energy pip more than I needed the health regen.
The teams that win are the ones that work together as a team. They choose soft targets and focus-fire, they might cast a buff on their companions instead of just themselves, they might build their character for team survivability instead of self-sufficiency. When it's just down to the Idiot chasing people across the map, and they have time to res the full team, it is still 4 on 1. Unless that team really sucked, the Idiot is going to die anyway, Mending or no. And with one pip of energy regen, he won't be hurting them much either. Sure, a good axe will do some damage, but it's skill usage that kills people.
