FOC vs IWAY
Was in a decent group last night in tombs with 6 foc spiker necros all with the relevent skills and 2 monks, We were all on vent and had a good caller.
Now at the ghosts we totally spiked them out, poor things had no chance, I was thinkin the hour we took to make the group I could atleast get some fame for all the effort.
First team we meet is IWAY and every1 was thinking ok this is easy right?? Ball up then, mass hex, echo the foc and basically wipe them out.
Thing was the iwayers are gettin smarter these days and they OWNED our asses!
Their Tactic:
1. Disease us
2. let pets take us out
3. Meteor Shower
4. wait for few corpses then putrid
After losing to a few iwayers on the 1st round the group disbanded, 2 hours makin group and gettin us all in vent and for nothing lol
I know im whining but hey it sucks eh, and to ppl who say IWAYers are noobs, not all the necros and the leader are lol
So anyways, any1 here got tips on how to beat iway with foc group?

Well I'm not sure how a FoC group works, but if:
1. Disease us
2. let pets take us out
3. Meteor Shower
4. wait for few corpses then putrid
was the reason you lost, I can think of a one thing that would really help. Spread out. You must've been really close for Disease to spread, and AoEs to take you out.

That propably wasn't why you lost to the group..It was probably because you had no way to interupt AoEs or to stop the melee damage from IWAY. 1 Aegis wouldn't cut it

Disease and pets shouldn't kill you alone. Move your ball out of a Meteor Shower if there is one, not that hard. Do not kill the pets. Your spike has range, you should still be able to take them out easily if they are not attacking. If the AoE's are that bad spread out until they attack, then ball up quickly again. Not the easiest with a pug, but a quick "ball up here on #1" + a pinging a spot on the mini-map helps.

With 6 necro in your group, you let Tainted Flesh and putid destory you?? In general IWAY usually wins if no one attack their necro and it sounds like your group did not do that.

Most people when they see lots of W/Rs will bunch up real close and thus become easy targets for AoE attacks. It's nice to see these so-called 'n00b' IWAY groups actually notice that most of the groups they fight against bunch up.

BBZZZZZ WRONG! Spreading out means the IWAY team can crush them individually. Healing balls stop IWAY until they spread, then they die really quickly. I've seen it happen many times...spreading out doesn't work well against IWAY unless you have a really good team.

maybe a e/mo earth ele with heal area and wards would help vs them iwayers, could put in obsidian flame on the ele to help on the spike if needed i guess.
Any thoughts on that?

usually when they send pets they are close to eachother, you couldve just done foc and killed them all, the foc necro build has to be very organized and will most likely never work out with a pug unless it is formed of top guilds, id suggest playing it with your guild.

Shadow of Fear, Enfeebling blood, Soothing Images and mass degen=gg iway
FoC gets owned by a good IWAY (not like I've seen any good ones besides the one we run) unless you are running those skills because you'll get off maybe 1 spike and really never get enough energy to pull off another one and you'll simply be outlasted by their res sigs.

Not if the FoC group uses malign intervention properly. Get it up on a couple of peeps before the killing spike.

Disagreed. It's all in the way you play the necro spike. You can't seriously expect to just stand in a ball and win. It would have worked the first few times, but people wisen up quite quickly. You got to stick together, but keep moving around. Make sure they have no choice but to come in to attack you all but also that you're not in one place long enough for them to drop some devistating attacks on your group.

How do you plan to outlast buffed fear me without excellent energy management?
There's no way you can kill them enough so that their res sig supply is exhausted before fear me locks you at 0 energy. You need the anti-warrior attack speed/adrenal counters and you need energy management (most teams make the mistake of running this with bad energy management and get owned after a few kills).

Earth/Water Ele group vs IWAY = fun
Deep Freeze, Grasping Earth, Ward vs Foes to slow them down
Wards vs Harm, Ward vs Melee to defend.
Iron mist random wars for the hell of it, then obsid flame spike away

It still doesn't cut it when you face a good IWAY team that uses the proper support build to buff the warriors. Fear Me every second hit will still destroy you, you're just delaying the inevitable by a few dozen seconds.

my guild and i use a good plan vs these noobie iway guys and so far lost very few times to iway.
Simple bunch of , get a mesmer or a interrupt ranger on a necro thats close thus putrids or maelstorm meteorshower? then kill 1 pet and get ur necro to put up a wellof profane then just smite the shit out of them and they die in a few seconds. easy as.
