E/R Spike Build is finally here !
These are my skills and my build:
Skills:
Blinding Flash ( Stop those annoying Rangers )
Chain Lightning ( Multiple Person Damage )
Lightning Strike ( Massive Damage )
Lightning Orb ( Massive Damage )
Lightning Touch ( Incase they get near )
Aura Of Restoration ( For some health )
Resurrection Signet ( Everyone hates you if you dont have this )
Build:
Air magic: 12 + 1 = 13
Earth magic: 0
Fire magic: 0
Water magic: 0
Energy storage: 12
---------------
Beast mastery: 0
Expertise: 0
Marksmanship: 0
Wilderness survival: 0
Using Spike ( Air magic ) skills have massive damage and are good in the tombs and arena's because they deal over 120 damage on Monks and Mesmers
Spiking is best usefull on:
1. Monks & Mesmer's Armor
2. Elementalist's
3. Warriors

Spike = large, single burst of concentrated damage. Air spiking is/was the most common spike damage. Unlike the sustained damage of smiting, spiking is meant to kill the target very quickly, without allowing the monk a chance to heal that target. If you have, for example, 3 air spikers targeting the same target and casting their chain at the same time then the target may be the recipient of a spike of damage on the order of 300+ hitpoints. Follow it up with strike or orb and the target oughta be dead.

And then drop enervating charge and put in Elemental Attunement. Or go E/N for offering of blood. Drop aura of restoration for a useful skill from secondary profession.

Energy management... take Elemental Attunement and Air Attunement, but be prepared to have them stripped by enchant removers.

I've always had Eneverating on my guy, just a personal preferance. Anyway, I wouldn't run spike, they don't win anymore.

I win with my spike group, but it's definitely frustrating and you have to have near-perfect coordination and tactics to win. Recently tried out earth spiking, but still learning that.

You should better meet RUS Corp when they were recently trying spiking Really coordinated (which is the most difficult thing about it and only few groups are capable to do this as I have seen) spiking + disenchant can still be competitive even to the smiting.

This is just like any generic air elementalist build... except you're lacking an elite skill, only have 13 Air Magic, only have 7 skills, and have lightning touch for some reason (lol).

Touché Well, we've won halls a few times since the death of spirit spamming, held it some too. We beat plenty of good teams, probably because they just aren't expecting air spike But like I said, if we're not on our game or if we have to pick up too many people who haven't played with us, it's very easy to lose, and it's pretty frustrating. The guy who runs the group is getting pissed off at PvP, but I think it's because he's unwilling to admit that air spiking is past its prime (the guy has like 900 fame, most of which he's made air spiking).
