I really think the 4v4 competition arena needs some tweaking (and yes, this should be moved to Sanitarium).
First of all, I know that its cool and all to have the Lava whatever place to break up the monotony of the "standard" maps, but come on, every one and their brother hates that map. I personally can't stand it. You work hard to kill a team, exhaust your resources, then they resurrect up and smash you and come back. Or it becomes a one-sided blowout that you have to suffer through for 3 minutes. Ugh. Everyone is over it, please remove!
Secondly, I play Tombs every now and then, sometimes win, more often lose. But I really like the 4 team matches, they are interesting at least. And the variety is cool as well. Increased faction is a bonus. It has its purpose and seriousness to it and it should be kept that way. That said however, the gametypes are really fun and a large population of the PvP playing world that do not get to experience them. Tombs has become a VERY exclusive place (if you want to succeed anyway, anyone can join a blind invite team and spend 2 minutes beating the Unworthys, and get smashed in the first round, but I digress). So many players don't get to try it out and get better. Maybe a 4v4 random team arena map or two with oh say... altars, or flag matches, or 4 ways etc. Why does this have to be relegated to Tombs and Tombs only?
Competition Arena/Team Arenas get very stale very quickly, yet there is no room for "noobs" in Tombs, and it is very hard to learn, unless you have a good guild that is willing to help you. Adding a small dose of what Tombs/HoH is like to the random/team arenas would really help people get better.
And why not a 6v6 arena? I know that it seems silly, but it would be a step up from teams, get some experience dealing with larger groups of people, but without the full-on difficulty/organization of the Tombs?
I know all of this sounds like "omg please help the noobz gimme 10k plz?" but there really is not a whole lot of learning curve for people. There are really very few decent/midrange players that are getting better but not great yet, because we have a lot of polarized, unpracticed new players and then a set of elite players that have been at the top for a long time. We might need a bit of middle ground, is what I'm asking for.
Ps. If any of this sounds extremely loosely related or poorly put together, tis because its 5am and I'm at work, bored, and tired, cut me some slack? =)
