Umm, since when did they change what one heal pip equals? Last time I checked it was 2 per second. Burning is -7 pips = 14 dmg per sec = 42 dmg over 3. If a team is foolish enough to run without hex removals, Rodgort will last for >20 second...but let's say 20 sec for simplicity. 20 seconds of burning = 280 dmg if you keep him burning for the full duration. That's 280 bonus dmg since you'll be using some other attack/spell. All you have to do is hope they can't remove hexes...
P.S. ...lol

Or you could just run immolate and not worry about hex prep time and hex down time, then fill your bar with other more dangerous skills. Considering your build, dont even waste points on fire magic.

I can't believe there is a serious discussion about a build that uses only flare spam.

There's a craze lately of sticking /R onto characters even when it makes them worse. See the W/R Axe thread.

Yeah, because wands are sooo much better than bows, swords, axes, or hammers, especially with no attack skills backing it up. W T F!

flare hits my elementalist for about 9 damage. How is spamming that going to kill anybody with any armor at all?

lots of typos

Kindle activates the Fire damage needed for Conjure and in turn also activates Mark of Rodgort. A fiery weapon is unecessary.

I love when I face builds like that, I relax myself and just plague touch em to death, no need shut down, remove hex etc ^^. Funny thing is that ppl not changes target, they just keep spamming the hexed one.

Just for the hell of it, and since it was PvPX, I tried an Ele rodgort/flare build yesterday in random 4v4... it was funny. People die real fast since most teams in random arena don't have hex removal.
I even had one ele shout back: how come you killed me so fast when I'm wearing Fire ele armor!

Heheh, that sounds like a good idea for my PvE fire ele to go have some fun... but, what is your second profession, and are you bringing restoration while you spam flare, since monks don't seem to be abundant in the random?

Flare spam, at best, would counter degen in random arenas. However, just having mana and casting anything with aura of restoration counters degen and does something more useful than wand+wand damage. The ether renewal while spamming flare at high skill is netting you around 57-63 hp per cast making the 20 from restoration look silly. The hey im getting hurt by a ranger or warrior snap casting blinding flash netting ~60 hp from restoration tends to be far more useful, hell even renewing aura of restoration is better at ~40hp gained in a shorter time frame as you are on to casting another spell right as the flare would have been finishing. The only nice thing about restoration is that its a passive gain, but it doesnt even begin to compare against things like divine favor passive gains, since its not transferable.
*yeah i know TF doesnt blackout attack skills, but my point was that there are none for wands and the rest of the skill bar suggested in the TF+wand build would be blacked out.

^^ thanks for contributing nothing to the topic of this thread. Go back and hide under your bridge, troll.
Zehly, Phades summed it up... with Ether Renewal, Aura of Res, Ele Attun, Fire Attun, the self healing was superb and Flare is almost free to cast!
