Default I need of help with my warrior

Alright, I've been having this problem ever since I started: I can't find a sub-profession for my warrior.

He's now level 20 and W/N but I still can't find anything that really works for me.

W/N is pretty nice with all the blood skills for self-healing, but I found that all the good self-healer cost from 10-15 energy which isn't all that nice for a warrior in my opinion. The curses line is also useful, but most of the good ones there cost a little too much for me to use, except perhaps for Parasitic Bond which is a great skill for a warrior. Death magic seems pretty useless to me, since everything costs huge amounts of energy and are based on summoning minions which again, isn't a good idea for a warrior.

Elementalist sub-class costs alot to use too energy-wise and if I want to use a Conjure Element spell I have to sacrifice the prefix-upgrade on my weapon and at the same time try and prevent the enchanment from being stripped.

Mesmer sub-class I haven't tried but the skill I'd most likely be using, Ether Feast, is an Inspiration magic which means I'd be using that skill an no others since Inspiration has to do with energy managament and that isn't what I'm seeking.

Ranger I used for some time with the Apply Poison - Cyclone Axe/Hundred Blades combo for multi-degen but I found that I simply wasn't healing enough or hitting enough enemies make good use of Apply Poison. Beastmastery could work with a Tiger's Fury-stance to buff my attack speed but it A) costs 10 energy and B) I already use Flurry to give attack speed. Pets are useless to a warrior in my experience so I'll leave them out.

Monk sounds like a good idea, since I'm looking for a way of self-healing but my first problem here is energy management. Skills that are good for warriors would be Healing Breeze but it costs 10 energy for only 10 seconds so that doesn't sound viable. Other good healing combos I know require Devine Favor so forget those and damage isn't really I'm looking for. Protection sounded interesting with Shielding Hands but I never tried... Plus, I hate being like the rest of the warriors who use W/Mo.

So, there're my main problems. I know there're alot of warriors out there so please help me find a good sub-class and I'd be very grateful. I will not use hammers and I prefere swords, but axes are just as fine for me. I'd prefere to be either ranger, necro or possibly mesmer secondary and I'd rather not be a monk.

Anyway, please help me out here and if you have any questions about how I play, what I'd like or whatever, please ask.

Thanks in advance!

PS: My seach function doesn't work so that's why I haven't found anything already.

Well, there are a bunch of good ways to warrior.
I personally like W/Mo's and just Warriors without secondarys.
If you decide to do a W/Mo, dont take skills that require energy to heal yourself, because you will never have enough to survive. Take an enchant or two, and deal your dmg off adrenal skills.

a Personal Favorite of mine:
Live Vicariously
Vigorous Spirit
IWAY
Flurry

then take a 1 to 3 vamp mod on an axe or sword and you can gain up to 25 health every time you hit something

another easy to do:
Live Vicariously
Mending

thats it, just take some adrenal stuff to kill with and you are set.

also, another great low-energy way of staying alive is through tactics. Obviously this should work, because it is in the warrior skill set, so it is low energy. Just equip some dmg skills, maybe some energy and some adrenal, then some adrenal and energy using tactic skills to keep yourself alive, and dont forget the amazing healing signet, it is a signet that *gasp* Heals! so use the skills that are there, and you will be fine man.

Just experiment with your skills, in the comp arena probably, just experiment until it works, learn how different skills act with each other and how they work by themselves. Do this, and you will be a great player, whether warrior or healer, or nuker, or whatever you want.

Rend enchancement from necro curse line is the most important spell for warrior to kill a caster. It's far more important then weaken armor, judge's insight, other hex or enchancement, and dmg spells. Rigor Mortis, Plauge touch are another critical spells

I play a W/Me, and they rock pretty hard as tanks.
And in energy management they excel.

They have just as many, if not more(?) stances than the W class,
and most of them have much longer durations and don't end if you
use a skill. Physical and Elemental Resistance are both great, albeit
overlooked stances for a Warrior to take. A few points in Inspiration
Magic make things a lot easier to stay alive and keep your energy charged.

W/R sucks in terms of efficiency. Anything he can do, other secondaries can do better...

W/Me, if you're not looking for strong energy based skill battle system, you're looking at the wrong class...

W/Mo aren't all bad. There ARE a few good ones who know how to use Prot. Prayers and Smiting Prayers to good degree.

I'm still all for W/N. People focus tooooo much on dmg healing and don't remember that you can REDUCE damage dealt to you as well... ^_^ [go curses!]

Ahh, I knew this would happen. My bad. I forgot to write that I'm looking for a build for PvE, not PvP.

Rosette you have a good point with the stances. Might try that out. It's not like I can't change if I don't like it...

I've been using necro curses for some time now, but perhaps I've been using the wrong ones? Shadow of Fear seemed pretty good to me and so did Mark of Pain. Are they really good? Remember, this is PvE.

W/R: spirits. Pred season, muddy terrain... list goes on, they all help out really.

W/Me: Signet of Humility (why not?), hex removal (like /mo)

W/Mo: SoH, JI, hex removal

W/N: Rend

W/E: Kdas/Wards/Water Snares, etc.

Translate that into into real coherent, language and I believe you get: "I'm a W/Mo noob, and refuse to believe another class is better as a secondary, Paladin Pre-Made for the win!" :O

Anyways...

W/N gives a TON of versatility through the different necro lines, Mark of Pain and Spiteful Spirit are two of the best farming skills you can get if used properly. Parasitic Bond is another great cheap, spammable curse that nets you some health and a tiny bit of damage.

W/Mo gives you alot of defense and a little offense, a decent bit of offense if you are good at energy management with Balthazar's Aura and Symbol of Wrath.

W/Me, some wicked combos from spells and stances are possible with this secondary, but it isn't that great for PvE in my experiance trying it out.

W/R, personally I use this to farm Mountain Trolls and Graal with, Apply Poison, Predatory Season, Edge of Extinction are all really nice PvE skills. Some skills are abit expenisve without Expertise to offset the cost, good for those with good energy management, like a smiting W/Mo.

W/E, Has great defense and some pretty good offense through the earth magic line using Armor of Earth and knockdowns, Aftershock Crystal Wave for PvE.

Read up on what skills you think you may like to use and put together a build you are comfortable with, in Guild Wars you can make any combination work.

<--- W/R for day one

I use Apply poison & troll urgent always, the other 6 skill slots are warrior sword to enclude 100 blades. When needed I can chnage to muddy, or winter etc.

Exchange 100 blades for barrage and rain down on them from behind a wall of minions. (if you have a MM with you)

I guess I should probably go back to the Curses then and see if I can get some good skills going... Parasitic Bond is definately a must for me.

Anyway, thanks for all the replies. Might try doing the Spirit build also.
