Default Working on a skull crack build

i have already been working with a w/mo version of this skull crack build in LA arena

16 sword furious sword of defense
11 str 10+1 45/2 enchanted shield
8 healing

flurry
skullcrack (for casters)
galrath
wild blow ( for stance users )
rush ( better then sprint in my opinion )
live vicariously
vigorous spirit
res sig

this build did very well, my first run with it my team had 13 wins, but you need to be close to psychic to catch monks and mesmers with skull crack with this build, so i decided to tweek it even more

so i changed it to w/me

16 sword furious/defense
12 illusion 12/faster cast and recharge offhand
4 str 3+1

arcane conundrum
etheral burden
flurry
skullcrack
galrath
wild blow
illusion of weakness ( didnt really know what else to put )
resig

id like some possible advice in what i could possibly change to make it better, i think skull crack has some serious potential

Burden is too costy, take it out. Use sprint instead, or rush, since your build is already energy heavy. Try frenzy instead of flurry unless you're being hit a lot. Try final thrust instead of illusion. You might want to try different secondaries if you think you can time Skull crack good enough, if not stick to Arcane Conudrum. If you do switch secondaries, get some condition, hex, or enchantment removal. Hope this helps.

maybe replace illusion of weakness with sympathetic visage so that each time a warrior attacks you (to get you off the monk) or you are wanded the casters around you lose energy and the warriors lose adrenaline

also: get rid of wild blow! your build is pretty much anti-caster, no need for a skill for fighting warriors. replace it with something from the swords skillset, most likely final thrust

dazed is sooo easily removed. its not even worth doing it. it will be on the person for one second at the most.

have you ever used skull crack/dazed in COMP arenas?? watch as when you put it on, everything your target monk casts is interrupted if you have a good speed buff

Actually Romo is sort of right...even in Comp Arenas. There's plenty of monks that can mend ailment and even with Dazed on them, it's not hard to run around in circles and stop to remove the condition.

Only an inexperienced Monk stands there trying to cast with Dazed on them while a warrior is wacking away. Personally I think conditions are far too easily removed by monks.

Only an inexperience warrior wouldnt snare them thus stopping the running and removing, only an inexperienced warrior wouldnt stack over it, and frankly, dazed comes best from concussion shot, and with tf youve got some serious moving to do before you remove that in peace. O yeah, and thats assuming its just you. Most of the time when i get a daze i spam 'DAZED' in teamchat and spam call. They always die.

final thrust would make it impossible for me to get skull crack off, final thrust uses ALL adrenaline, and as to regarding taking wild blow off, what am i gonna do if im not going against many spell casters? be useless? i think not

I didn't think a warrior primary could take advantage of the mesmer's fast casting ability. Correct me if there is a bug?

I think he was referring to the offhand item that gives 20% Recharge and Increased Cast Times.

Skull Crack sucks don't use it. Despite what you think it just plain sux0rs. Might as well just go ranger and use Quickshot +concussion shot for dmg and dazed. I mean 9 ADRENALINE! and with a rangers expertise concussion shot is not hard to get off.

That may be true but it still doesnt change the fact that Skull Crack sucks. It takes too long to build adrenaline to apply and it's too easy to remove.

I'd try Necro secondary for Dark Fury, and use For Great Justice! plus frenzy. See how that works.

I've been thinking about a team in tombs running concussion shot and fevered dreams + fragility + random conditions on 3-4 people. You spread dazed among their whole team, run a barrage ranger for interrupts, signet of humility anyone with martyr (or just fevered them, so it'll respread after they martyr and reflash frag), and drown their team in conditions.

Prot monks don't run martyr, there's alot better elites that this one. Warrior/monk is normally the one who use it lol.
Anyway, he said that they would be running signet of humility, so it works.

Not a problem cause you use it just to end the stance. And normally, defensive stances are used at the start of the fight (meaning when you are attacked by a war).
