From my own experience running a tank-monk in CA, it boils down to effectiveness due to a lack of quality opposition. Even though you may have 1 or 2 "good" players in your random team, there always seems to be the one player who doesn't switch off to another target, thereby limiting your ability to outdamage my heals. End result- I heal through your damage as a result of only partially focused fire on the called target, and my teammates take your team down one by one.
Which isn't to say it works this way all the time. I've had my enchantments stripped and been left naked more than once, popping of Healing Touch and Breeze to try and outlast the focus fire, all the while praying that my team can at least take down one of the attackers before I am minion fodder. Or the entire team does manage to switch off to another target and I can't keep up with the damage output of 4 players truly focusing a target. More often than not though, it produces the results I was looking for- faction from consecutive flawless victories.

I also have a E/W build, playing as a nuker. I use the W half mainly for defense.
13 fire
11 energy storage
6-7 tactics
The only warrior skills I use are Gladiator's defense and healing signet. What I like to do against warriors is to blast them with:
1.) Meteor Shower
2.) Meteor (Right after casting shower to knock them down at least once in case they decide to run. If I did it right, they will get hit at least 2-4 times before realizing they are in a meteor shower.)
3.) Inferno
4.) Pheonix
5.) Fireballs at anyone running away and almost dead.
It causes alot of dmg. If it's a low armor person, they will die. I guess being half warrior only lets me defend myself from tanks for a few seconds and some quick heal.
Overall, the W/E build that I use isn't great, but I've learned to use it pretty nicely. I guess the same can be said about anybuild once you've learned to use it. I never carry sword or shield with this build. That would look awkward. I'm pretty vulnerable against alot of other builds. IW is too overpowered in my opinion. When I see a Me/W, I kinda know to get him before he gets too close.
