Well, nobody has replied yet, so I'll mention what I think is the best bet so far.
As a Me/E, Earth magic can certainly keep you alive. Between Armor of Earth and Obsidian Flesh, you become a super-tank. Using Arcane Echo with Obsidian Flesh can greatly increase your spell immunity in combat.
That uses up three skill slots and the elite. Glyph of Energy is probably necissary for energy manegement, and probably something from the Inspiration line. Channelling, Energy Tap, Leech Signet... pick one.
That leaves three slots left. Since Earth is probably maxed out at this point, that is probably the best choice for damage, even though I'd rather have a fast casted Meteor Shower. I guess Obsidian Flame and Crystal Wave are the best bets there.
My biggest complaint here is that those defensive Earth enchantments slow you to a crawl. That doesn't much matter when you're getting mobbed though, they come to you.

If going Inspiration, pick up Physical Resistance. At 12 Insp. I think it's +40 armor against physical attacks, but -14 armor against elemental attacks. If echo'ing Obsidian Flesh, you shouldn't be -too- worried about elemental attacks anyway (in PvE, anyway.) It lasts much longer than it's recharge, and is a stance.

Definitely another skill to be considered for this build, but even an echoed Obsidian Flesh is going to end eventually. It can only be cast three times in a row like that. Also, I don't think Physical Resisitance is necissary with the Armor of Earth, however if Earth magic was abondoned, then Phys. Resist would become an option, but then you couldn't take advantage of other good defensive stances like the elemental mantras or Distortion.

As the initial post isn't asking for critique on a build, but rather asking FOR builds, and I know that there're mesmer solo builds, if for no other use than soloing flesh golems (though I think there's one for The Underworld as well), closing this. Please use the search button in the future.

The underworld one isn't pure mesmer, from memory.
There are several solo mesmer builds, both pure mesmer and mesmer/? I'm yet to try the illusion based one, already had fun with the domination one, and currently playing with the mes/ele one, although, it's gotten a bit harder now with the new updates, but the extra challenge is fun.
btw, dragging the topic up for the hell of it cause I'm bored.
