hmm, i loved this post Red Locust as Real and I could spend the rest of the day discussing different builds that could own in the appropriate circumstances, but for every valid build there is a valid counter and therein lies the beauty.
Now there will be small prizes for the winner(s) and a bit of fun to be had, the only cost is of 100g for your guest fee.
The response so far is incredible and the quality of entrants I'd have to say is high in same cases and in others unknown which will add intrigue and challenge to this competition.
We will be posting the winners in game names & picture (so wear some decent armour) so the one thing better than the prizes will be the recognition, the prestige and the respect of being the:
ACOMA WARRIOR CHAMPION of 2005
have you got what it takes?

No offense intended, but this statement is a bit bland and unoriginal.

It's such a perfect motto. Great job. Almost as good as the beta motto used on the iQ forum: "beating you with mending since E34E"...
I wonder why 99% of dueler wannabes have either warrior or monk in their professions, and why 80% have both. I trust it's a coincidence. *shrug* I hope you give a special prize to the most griefing build designed to get as many stalemates (or victories by default/boredom) as possible. Either your 'custom arena' is big enough for runners to make your 'death match' a joke, or it is so small it's just a 'kick in the nuts' contest. Either way, there are so many ways to exploit dueling it's not even funny. Just curious: why no pets? Do you think they're so l33t you have to make them illegal?

i think it will come to two options:
W/N - condition removal
W/Me - hex removal
it's gonna be luck imo...

This is simply a fun event to get people enjoying GW in different ways. If people don't like the rules then i totally respect their opinions. But no one is making you play, are they?
Its also just the beggining with a 2v2 tournie coming soon, Guild Tournies, Necro battles, 3v3s, Ladders ect....
And remember we have an A.O in every match so if peeps are exploiting or taking too long, they have the power to order a re-build as well as a Death Match scenario. .
The Tournement is to be taken in good humour and fun , those taking it so seriously or simply stating the negative possibilities really should think twice about competing, Its simply another dimension to GW our Guild wish to explore and from all the positive feed back and the amount of applicants it seems very successful, but hey only time will tell. You could be right and someone may come in and exploit, but this is another reason why Warriors should watch every fight and see how peeps battle.
Its for fun, simple as that.

I actually like this idea so long as people are knowledgable and don't take these 1v1 king builds into my team builds...
I'd join, but eating a tank for breakfast doesn't seem my cup of tea. That and it's at a bad time for me...
Anyways, I think a W/N would turn a W/Mo tank wuss into a pile of steaming leftover excrement after copraphagy has taken place.
While they're busy healing themselves, just steal the hp they're using and then you're gaining while they're hp isn't moving. [thanks to the stupidly high e. cost of healing skills vs. necro hex hp stealing, necro should win...]
That and W/N just do more than w/mo in the long run. Seeing that battles between warriors are in the end, long run battles, [yay armor], that's probably going to be the case...

sympathetic visage, or any other enchantement will be easilly rended
if you choose to bring anything besides w/n or w/me, i would be surprised if you pass the first round.
except if C A M fights with something else, since i'm a n00b warrior anyway
im so dead

What is the point of that?
I agree that contest is very interesting. I give them props for taking the initative to add some flavor in the gettng bland department of 4v4.

No defenses = dead warrior as well...
The entire idea of this contest is very interesting to me...I could see several different ways warriors could go to create very competitive builds, and would not be surprised if there are effective builds that are entered to counter the W/N and W/Me builds described here already.

Not if I also bring an elite echo
But this is what I'm worrying about. War vs war will only boil down to which secondary profession's skills are best against melee opponents and each other, and not so much about warriors themselves. So the rule should be more restricted, like only warrior skills are allowed.

really, war vs war will be boring, griefers will ruin it by not winning by killing the other person, but by boring them to death. make it a free for all of classes. 1 on 1 with any class would be very intertaining, seeing a griefer going up against a necro or mesmer would make my day
