Oh, well sorry for not being R3/6/9/12
I am absolutely SICK, of Rank in this game.
I know, I know, this has been said a lot of times, but I really do, wanna bring up this discussion again.
EVERYWHERE I go, it's just R3/6/9/12 only, being R1 (61 Fame), I do actually play a good Build of any Profession and I play pretty well (in my opinion) in any of the Builds. Now, most of these teams that say R3 only, I try and talk to them and say why do they only want R3, I know they say experience, but themselves, they probably IWAY'd it there.
I can not get into any teams, except those teams that just blindly invite you, and when you Accept to talk and see what's there plan, strategy or some sort, they just accept you as there 8th and final player, and just hit Enter Mission.
Another group I only get in, groups that just you scream so many times before Entering "Please don't start the timer, do not rush, etc etc etc". What do you? You enter, and there's ALWAYS one, who just rushes in.
I know, PUGs really do suck.
Although, I have managed to get into a R6 only group, as they took the benefit of the doubt, and accepted and kept me in, and I did play well, and we did stage HoH, we all played good, but lost to Peace And Harmony. I've been in a few groups that give me the benefit of the doubt.
But I really am, SICK of Rank in this game, I know many players that are better than a lot of Players that are Rank 3/6/9. You get all these Rank 6 people in groups showing of there Rank, you get in a Tombs fight, and there they are, running of, starting the timer before anyone's ready, or anyone's loaded, running in, getting killed, screaming: OMFG Y DONT U HEAL ME <insert more swearing and vulgarness>.
Yes yes, I know, do it with Guildies, thing is, I've never, still, found a Guild that is actively online, I just want a Guild were I can come online, with some friendly members that are there who I can talk to, and just go to Tombs, or have a GvG match, all the 1s I can find, they just want R3/6/9 as well !
It really is annoying. Now, I know I'm going to get flamed by you so called 'pro tombers who are rank whatever' and think your so special. Woop-de-doo. If I was (pft, I wish), Rank 9 or whatever, I don't care the Rank of another team-player, I do give people benefit of the doubts when *I'm* creating a team.
Can't rank just be removed? Or altered *somehow*...*sigh*...
Examples:
And I get the same thing, no matter WHAT I'm playing, maybe if I'm on my Monk, then it's just auto-accept, but I still find that pathetic.

Let me get this right... your worst experience is with unranked PUG and your best is with a Rank 6?
Seriously if rank does not matter - why don't you just create your own PUG?
PUG will always ask for somekind of prerequisite - be it rank, TS/Vent, a specific skillset, weapon and mod, etc.
You will be pissed either way.
So you did well with a Rank 6. Great. It does not mean your great either. You might be but its far from automatic. Hell I would do great in GvG if I rolled with Te.
Just create your own PUG. Rank is not your enemy. Saying rank does not matter or is of no use is being disengenious.

Being rank 7, i agree that the rank system totally sucks...
And theres a reason why i dont pug with r6+ groups or anything, because they suck aswell...
U know what I do? I have people on my friends list.
Its the best way of doing tombs...

How do you advertise yourself for a group? Saying that you have TS/Vent, and can play any roll is more important to some people than rank.
Also, I would advise staying away from the International Districts. That is elitist land.

Erm, no its not, its maybe a good place for people to go actually.
So they might get this idea of Europe Vs Korea Vs America out of there heads...
Not only elitist players visit int districts. ALOT of other people also meet there, being good/bad in pvp (doesnt matter)

And what PUG in AD 1 with the IWAY battalion?
ID is full of elitist (including IWAY elitist) but pound for pound your chances of getting in to a capable group is higher in ID than AD or ED.
I am sorry rank does matter. People just don't know how to use it. And the same people hating on it, often turns back around and start their own rank group.

American districts are flooded with IWAY (kids that scream EMOTE PLEASE!!?) and MF (which I've never encountered in tombs.)
If I ever need a warrior to just attack stuff, I know where to go... but International is much better for finding quality players.

"Tanking" is what you do in PvE. Good luck finding a team that beats up on your warrior first.

Make a W/R.
Make your own IWAY group.
Advertise like this IWAY R3+ LF 3 W/R, 2 Trappers, 1 Tainted, 1 Order - MUST EMOTE.
Farm fame.
And this is it...

PUGs, no matter what rank, suck. When I reached rank 3, I thought a whole new glorious world of no-wait times would open up to me. Didn't happen.T
he quality was slightly better, but the wait times were just as long. 1-2 hours. I have no doubt that if I tried to pug now as R6+, the wait would be the same.
It's frustrating, but I maintain that the best way to get in groups is to be in an active guild, and have an active friends list. Plus, you'll have more fun with guildies and the more you play with them, the better you'll play as a group. I admit I was a bit lucky to get into a guild that PvPed a lot-maybe you'll just have to farm IWAY fame to rank 3.
Know why PuGs run with FOTM? Because people ragequit after one run and it doesn't give you a chance to adapt to a new build you might be asked to run.
Or, like some people said before, run your own build. It might take 5-6 hours, but at the end you'll have a group of eight people who will want to tomb again, because they're in the same situation you're in. I remember this happened to me once; we got to halls, despite all but two being less than R3. The group leader had been LFGing for 6 hours, but we got a group, and the wait was only two hours the next day. Just give them the skillbar, get them on TS/Vent, tell them what to do, and find someone new when they leave. And then you'll have eight that will go on your f-list, and you can tomb with them tomorrow...and so on. And one of them might be able to point you in the direction of an active guild-who knows?
It's harder than pugging IWAY to R3, but it's more satisfying, and gives you experience that's invaluable. You just have to put in the hard yards.

I do actually play a good Build of any Profession and I play pretty well (in my opinion) in any of the Builds.

I don't mean to presume or cause offence, but I thought that when I was R2, thought it again when I was R3-but I was wrong.

gah computer lagging...MAYBE.. another reason is not only rank.. but ya build is wrong for a trapper..... so maybe thats it.. i see no spirit..if i do IWAY i make both trappers bring
dust barb spike HS whirling mantra of resolve spirit and res sig.. and if you say something about having 2 stances... thats another problem why you dont get to join tombs groups.

Hence the 'in my opinion'.
What I meant by that was, when I do get to play a Build, my other team-mates tend to praise and say I did good. :$

Often, the best way to get into a decent (non-IWAY) team is to give them a skill list to show you know what you're talking about. Also, just about every good group out there uses Vent/TS.

The real honest to god truth is that rank and thus fame doesn't mean a blasted thing. Rank doesn't show a player's true skill. Fame continually builds up with wins, thus a player with rank 9 is just one that has spent a good amount of time in ToPK. If you lost fame for a loss then rank could be used as a better indicator of a player's true skill. However, since that's not the case, you have people that are rank 9 and think that because they are rank 9, they own everyone else not rank 9. Rank shows 2 things, and one of those only marginally: 1. How much time you've spent in ToPK. 2. If you have an idea of the maps, gametypes, etc.
