Anyone else curious why EP copied Warmachines GvG build skill-for-skill, yet they complain about people copying thier builds and lacking originality?

Lumi: Not really. We get flamed no matter WHAT we do, due to jealously. All we run into is other people running our builds. We change, they change, etc. Just no more originality.

I used to like EP a lot, but that interview just made them come off as arrogant jerks. Guess I can't really judge the whole EP based on that interview... Just their leader
Anyways, that was a very long round, and kinda boring too. A good majority of the battle (not suprisingly) wasn't even fighting. =/

Not only skill for skill - but attribute also.
WM Berri was probably laughing.

I enjoyed that battle hugely. Considering what was at stake the tension was great, as it was in the second battle also
The tactics and movement were superb, although I felt pRp might have been a little more agressive at times when they had the upper hand, but hard for them with their spike split. Some of the defensive work by their monks early on was superb though.
Interesting to watch the respective flag runners and how they went about their job. I dont think there was a morale boost conceded until about 45 minutes in. EP didnt really get on top and look certain to win until the pRp runner was DP'd out.
A classic match in many ways, split squad gankers vs spike and, i thought, a great lesson in GvG tactics and movement

Actually pRp should have won the game. It was their tactical mistakes (and ANet's FUBAR) that caused them the game. In the first 2 games, pRp WAS CLEARLY SUPERIOR. The supposed spike metagame of EP was outplayed. They coould not spike a volleyaball. They could not break the bonds.
It was pRp's hold the flag stand until sundown that allowed EP to win game 2. they should have killed them much earlier. Much.
EP's 2R/2Mes build was far from suitable for the tasks - that is why they had to switch - using the EXACT same build as another well known team. They lost any credibility left they had on that one.
Another thing. ANet allowed EP to change build after the second restart of game 3 (technically it was game 5). That should have not been. In game 4 pRp was again the superior team but ANet wanted to restart it because they had technical difficulties on Observer Mode. Bad technically and horrendous administration!!

Wait, what? EP Copied WM's build? Is that allowed?

Well considering pRp was running a near replica of EP's usual build, I would hope so. Builds arent copywrighted.
As for the match, pRp had it under controll for a long time, but whenever they had the opportunity to push forward and finish it, valor took the safe road and held the stand. Eventually EP worked off their DP, and had the map under their controll again.

pRp should've won but their tactical mistakes cost them. Yeah, that's usually how it is.
ArenaNet having to restart the match is unfortunate, but it is in the rules that they can do so. Saying that pRp would have certainly won is flawed reasoning.

That is NOT game 3. That is game *4*.
We had game 3 in hand, but had to restart.
pRp was not running a replica of EP's build. Valor invented the current r-spike. He is the leader of pRp. Furthermore, the modded spike I ran included a shatter mesmer before EP had it in their build. So, seeing as how they have 2 r/me, 1 mes/nec, that means they copied 3/5 of the classic ranger spike offense. Since they included a shatter mes, that means they copied my mod on the spike. The only original mod they had is the N/R.
Also, they copied WM's build for game 4.
And we certainly would have won. We had full morale, were in their base. They all had DP, some were close to being DPed out.
I have a short explanation of what happened here:

I see EP loosing. Especially if they needed to copy a build just to win. They should have known what pRp was running from watching the observer, that's if they were allowed too, or from previous battle that they fought in.

everyone watching the previous games of pRp vs EP said that EP going to need a miracle (match 1).
Well, I guess they prayed so hard that God decided to screw with Anet's machines.
lol
anyway, I was disappoint how pRp cut all agression in their strategy, never heard of that the best defense is a good offense? Oh well.
I was also disappointed in EP for doing copy builds, but it is ok, it wasn't any cheat or anything. They did made a good choice in taking WM's build, but that was because they had the extra time to decide to use it and organize it... so that is a trigger of luck.
I am sure the EP is very happy to win over pRp regardless of the luck factor. I hope EP thank their God that they prayed to =P

Eh, both sides got lucky. Prp was dodging catapults left and right earlier :P
I guess I have to say although i think it was fair, the level of technical dificulties etc. Reflects badly on Anet.
