We're talking about pvp...
So, tell me - usually in what order your team gets killed?
Warrior is attacked last 99% of the time, cause he's a warrior... you don't need all these tanking stances and enchantments - if you are attacked, your monk won't have any problem healing/protecting you, cause your armor lowers alot of damage.
Some people should really understand that warrior isn't about tanking (pvp), but it's about doing damage in close range.
Tell me ONE good reason to have war/mo cast mending on himself in pvp?

I cast enchantments in Pvp for the damage reduction from Thorgails Shield -2dmg when enchanted...mending is just one of a few enchantments i cast for this effect...Thats 1 good reason for you....isnt it obvious? but its stacking with platemail armor and knights gloves with absorption rune and a +7AR against elemental weapon mod blah blah.... My high armor, shield, runes and protection skills and stances mean I can take some punishment and I can usually take most casters down with high dmge skills at the same time. Im not trying to be a massive killer and kill everyone, just enough to tip the balance in my teams favour.
You can kill quick and be killed quick for all I care in Pvp but thats not the approach I like otherwise I wouldnt be a W/Mo.
Also why do ppl call everyone else a newbie just cos they play differently?....'your a noob cos you use something I dont know how to use to most benefit...maybe that makes you a bit of a noob' ...Im not claiming to be the best in Pvp unlike most people who brag about how they kill absolutley everyone...but I do just fine. Do some people really believe that they have reached the pinnacle of Gild wars Skills understanding or something? Do they get some satisfaction in beating a load of 14 year olds in Pvp and think they have surely everyone nothing more to learn about skills?...blah blah
Oh and by the way... post your build in the forum and see how many people call you a noob because they dont understand your build or agree with you on how you use it....enough said

If I get some real nice builds, I prefer to keep them for guild forum... so, no thx.
Yea yea, you cast it to last longer, but what point? You get to be attacked last anyway! Why not put it on the monk, who is most important allie you must keep alive. And it's the player who will be the most attacked char of the fight, putting mending on yourself is just wasting the purpose of having hp regen on you - because most of the time w/mos don't have any problems with hp until it's really the end of the fight... or they are really dumb and run into 1000 traps set by our frendly r/me.

I dunno....just sounds like you're not playing to win. And I don't see the point in that, tbh. But if you enjoy it, go for it.
I sure hope you've tried different builds though, you'll find that the w/mo paladin alternatives like an eviscerate axe warrior, kd/as hammer warrior, are much more satisfying to run. If you stick to your mending, you'll undoubtedly get bored sooner or later.

Come on... mending isnt the only skill I use for peats sake its just one of em....."here I come casting mending on all you....your all dead haha"
Usualy lasting long enough to kill people is playing to win and yes protecting the other more fragile teamates of course. If everyone takes the attitude of applying the worst case senario to any subject then you will have negativity. My favorite build though I have to say just for the fun of it is using shield of judgment and watching folk falling, taking damage and falling again while Im chopping at em. I suppose you play enough times, then you see a repeat of a situation and you customise your buid to best suit what happens to you most, but it may not happen same way to others.

Paladins are not pvp-worthy builds. Why? because they are decent sword warriors who waste slots and skills and mana doing things like putting mending on themselves.
In pvp, you are rarely a target if you are a warrior. If you are targeted, that means a) the other team is full of idiots and you will soon win or b) you're the only person left standing and will soon be dead. So, yes, when that one in a hundred chance occurs and a paladin throws off healing hands and saves the monk's life, that's wonderful. And when the other ninty-nine chances occur, and the paladin throws healing hands on himself while being spiked with elemental damage, well, that's par for the course.

i use my paladin build different. I use superior swordminship, with the helmit so i have 16 swords. I use both of the enchanted weapons so i have a edditional 50 health. I use the pommel so i have an additional 30 health. And i switch healing to protection prayers. I equip Vital Blessing and another skill that i forgot. I deal around 200dmg using final trust.

Back in the day, me and my boys were GvGing and we see this w/mo (paladin) rushing alone. We decide, let's kill this guy. We engage and we couldn't kill him ffs, a few secs later, our Guildlord was being ganked, they set us the trap and we bite like kids.
Bottom line is, don't overstimate the paladin (or any other build) just because it doesn't makes sense to you doesn't means it's useless.

Hm hm, what kind of build were you running so you can't kill one war/mo???
Only one spike - he's dead. 10 hp regen - dead. Ranger spike? - rangers without enchant strippers are nothing ...
Btw, the word is underestimate I believe.

i think the person who made this thread should be shot, let them learn from there own mistakes and people who run them usually are new to the game how else are they gonna learn to pvp, are you gonna teach the new players 1 by 1 how to pvp with builds that YOU are you using, yes they're are forums in which they can learn on what builds to use but most don't know about it unless a friend or guild member tells them.
ranger without enchament stripper is 10x better then one with it, enchament stripper is useless compared to the other skills that they would run to do dmg, while your casting enchament strip of some sort they intirrupt it and by the time you realize it you've already taken 200 dmg on trying to remove a stupid enchament

Rolf. then you haven't got any idea why some ranger spikers are r/me.
Unless you got yourself dedicated enchant stripper, you need something to counter those enchants.
Try to damage through that life barrier, or with any other spike - protective spirit and your damage is useless. Looks like you've never been in any real GvG or Tombs battle.
Lesson: pure damage is nothing, it can be countered by any protector

Do what I do.
I play a healer. It's not immediately obvious, since it's an E/Mo healer. When I join CA, I announce in teamchat:
Galen Hardril: "I am a healer. I do not heal warriors who use mending on themselves."
If anyone does, I announce in local: "I am a healer. I do not heal warriors who use mending on themselves. That means #4 on my team will get no healing. Kill him."
In one match, on the lava level, the opposing team had a good monk, and our Paladin-crippled offense couldn't outdamage him, and their offense couldn't get past my healing. So, sudden death rolled around, and we waited. And we waited.
About four minutes into sudden death, apparently someone on the other team remembers what I said, and targets the paladin. Up goes breeze, vigorous, and an orison or two. He dies about 15 seconds later, and the other team wins.
If all healers did this, maybe the whammos would learn that other people are better than they are at healing, and run some damage instead.

hehe,
Mending does have a use... you can go into tombs, make a full group of 7 wa/mos plus one Monk and basically just use the premade Paladin. Go in... cast mending and... start... laughing.
Our guild did this for a few minutes and we had fun unmatched by hours of playing. We met some bad teams that lost terribly to this zero tactic, zero brain, zero skill build and we met others that just (of course) crushed this. But the real fun came when people started flaming.
Some became VERY VERY arrogant and failed to understand that this was nothing more but a mere joke. Including the threadstarter... but well. Thanks for the laugh ^^
I made the fun statement of "Hax, mending should have protectz0r me!" and you guys took it WAAAY too seriously. Peace :P
