A CRAZY idea!!!
I have thought of something...and I believe it is brilliant!!! Before i begin... yes, there will be some energy issues, lets move on. IW mesmers rock if ignored and not disenchanted, however this is rarely the case. Also, if spiked, this fella goes down EASILY!!! Imagine an IW mesmer with more armor for less energy..MAGNIFICENT! Also, imagine being ignored and not pinpointed for attack, that would be beautiful.
Here it is, an IW mesmer, but reversed, a W/Me, YIPPEE
Attributes:
Illusion: 12
Strength: 8+3
Inspiration: 10
5 attribute points left over
Skills:
Illusionary Weaponry (e)
Conjure Phantasm
Spirit Of Failure
"I Will Avenge You"
Sprint
Frenzy
Energy Tap
Runes:
Superior Strength
Superior Vigor
Superior Absorption
The goal of this build is to get hidden damage in and extra armor. You will be looked at as another tank, and not necessarily a primary target. Now you can strike with IW, and not be seen. The one problem is low energy, so inspiration magic is used to steal your opponent's energy. With strength as a primary, speed and attack speed is given for low energy too. The only problem with the build is health management, but that can be made up for with a good monk, and superior absorption and vigor doesn't hurt either.
PLease, post comments on this build! I have yet to test it, and I would love to get some feedback and make improvements. Thanks!

i tried this at one point for general round the house pve use, and i wasnt very impressed ~ even vs mursaat and titan level stuff i was doing less than just general axe spiking would.. at 32 dmg per hit its not too deadly and its a fussy one to run.
A good old victos in the head hurts more than an illusionary one in my opinion

Really? ok, it was just a thought, however, Tank vs. Tank you will win...armor penetration. I still think it could work well in PvP, because moost people are too busy woorying about health and such that they dont bother to notice a warrior casting IW.

They'll also see where the damage comes from everytime they are hit. "Illusionary Weaponary -32" will flash repeatedly.

in organized pvp, the damage output isnt that great.
furthermore, people dont see IW mesmers casting IW; they just see the " -40 Illusionary Weapony " flash on their screen. when you see this, you just starting kiting, rendering the IW mostly useless.
I would also doubt whether this guy could outdamage an axe/gale warrior. evicerate, executions and the other skills pack a real punch. and strength adds some inherent AP.
i dont mean to shoot you down, but i would vere away from this concept.
good luck!
peace

for tank vs tank i'd suggest breaking out an elemental weapon, maybe even a conjure <element> thrown in

In fact, if you're looking at this build from a pure damage standpoint, a standard warrior should be able to beat it. Obviously, if you have IW up, you'll be at an advantage when facing other warriors, but in CA it's rare to target a warrior over a caster.

??? why would you care what happens in a "tank vs. tank" situation?
in PvP, a warrior ought to be owning (or trying to own) that monk/mesmer/necro/squishie in 60 armor. You should NEVER engage a warrior as a warrior primary unless that warrior is the last one standing on his team (which he should be.)

don't wanna sound harsh but this warrior will never be stronger than just a w/e or w/r axe... all the reasons I can think of have already been posted.

This idea is crazy indeed. Try it. I won't work. The most basic paladin build would be better. My favourite combos in your build?
strength + 0 mastery + IW
Illusion 12 + Illusionary Weaponry (e)
Frenzy + Illusionary Weaponry (e) <--- yeah, baby, yeah!
Read basic guides about IW, and you should understand why.

As said already, it's a bad idea.
