Monkless Hex build possible?
In Random Arena its easily possible for a team with enough shutdown and self preservation to flawless a team with a monk.
Now I know that Random Arena players are probable very low skillwise and that its a 4v4 but well lets discuss it.
So is a team of 8 people possible to run without monks? I think it could be, would require a lot of teamwork and lots of shut down but I think its doable.
Example team:
Curse/Blood Necro
OOB (E)
Life Siphon
Feintheartedness
Parasitic bond
Shadow of Fear
Holy veil / Utility
Aegis / Utility
Rez
Curse/Blood Necro

Parasitic bond
Shadow of Fear

Aegis / Utility
Rez
Spitefull Necro
Spitefull Spirit (E)
Parasitic Bond
Shadow of Fear
Enfeeble
Malaise
Inspired Hex
Drain Enchant
Rez
Spitefull Necro
Spitefull Spirit (E)
Parasitic Bond
Shadow of Fear
Enfeeble
Malaise
Inspired Hex
Drain Enchant
Rez
Cripling Anguish Mesmer
Cripling Anguish (E)
Conjure Phantasm
Clumsiness
Arcane Conundrum
Ether Feast
Spirit of Failure
Drain Enchant
Rez
Ineptitude meser
Ineptitude (E)
Clumsiness
Conjure Phantasm
Arcane Conundrum
Ether Feast
Drain Enchant
Inspired Enchant
Rez
Surge Mesmer
Surge (E)
Burn
Blackout
Inspired Hex
Ether Feast
Drain Enchant
Utility Spell
Rez
Cripling Anguishg Runner
Cripling Anguish (E)
Phantom Pain
Conjure Phantasm
Illusion of Weakness
Illusion Haste
Healing Breeze
Heal Party
Resurect
I made those skills pretty quickly so they would need reajusting to compliment each other better, but the concept of monkless hex build is possible maybe?

Lack of durability is going to kill you. Look at how many characters you are fueling with drain enchantment. Whats to say the opposing team will have more than maybe one or two enchants you can regularly drain? Eventually you are just going to burn out, and if they aren't all dead by then (which with the amount of heal party spam around these days is unlikely) you are going to get sat on. That is the sad fact, an Ether Prod e/mo with Heal Party is such a strong counter to your build. And they are very common.
Unless you have some method of reliably shutting down the Heal Party spam, such as putting Scourge healing on everyone, or camping an interrupter on the heal party bot, I don't think it is viable.

Like JR said, I don't think you will be able to reliably kill things. Without dropping them fast, you can be pretty much assured that you will die relatively quickly, even with your defensive skills.
I don't see how you could reliably sit an interrupter on the heal party spammer who could happily sit 100 feet or more behind their backline. Scourge Healing is an interesting option - does the scourge healing penalty stack from heal party? ie. would one heal party nearly kill the E/Mo?
Would the concept of a monkless hex heavy team work better in gvg or hoh if at all?

hmm good observations, lacking the final blow is a problem
I guess i was dreaming when i thought a bunch of mesmers and necros could play a game without any healers lol
So if a team didnt have a HP spammer and everyone managed to shut down well enough it could be pulled off maybe? Maybe if all the chars had a little spike ability?

If you managed to get it to stick on all 8 party members, which isn't very realistic, it's generally going to be doing roughly about 504 damage (based on a bit of guestimation with spec in smiting). Most people these days tend to run equipment or runes to leave them with over 500. So technically it could kill the E/Mo, but it's very unlikely. It definately does make it very unappealing to use the spell though.

Scourge Healing works great in degen builds because of the fact that even if a target isn't getting any heals from Heal Party, it still makes the damage trigger on the Heal Party spammer. So while this may not outright kill him on its own, if the Heal Party spammer is degening fairly badly on his own, he'll drop rather quickly.
At 16 smiting, a Heal Party guy takes 672 damage from 8 copies of Scourge Healing on his team. At 12 smiting, he takes 536 damage from 8 copies of it.

Might as well stick pacifism/amity in there too, so the guy can just watch his health get drain to 0... if everything going accordingly.
If they all going to die at once from the super shutdown + ultra degen, it would be great to have a death necro picking up the momentum.
