Jumps are usually about when you finish your match, especially halls jumps, not how many in tombs at that time

i went into ha today with a 4 people+4henchies grp and we skipped only 1 map.
won 5 maps and lost closely on courtyard.

you must`ve been very lucky with that many hoh jumps.

i would`ve loved to jump to hoh and win it with the henchies.
but you never get what you want when you need it

btw most enemy teams were balanced, 1 iway, 2 rangerspikes.

I find the only people running different builds are Guilds, We went in with a pet preassure build and ttotally stomped almost everyone one day, but we always lost out to rank 9+ or top 200 guilds. For a first run I was very pleased though and with some tweaking I think we have a chance at taking halls.

But yeah almost every build was the same.

You know what you could try its rather easy build. Try 4 e surgers.. In the beginning you call a spike(without calling target). everyone attack random target. but make sure your person is in a group. Everyone will get energy surge damage then. you also got a w/r with soil one person calls each time for the w/r.. he surges that person. and the w/r will kill that person. If you explain it nice it can get 3 wins always, even with r3+..

Oh yea and the 3 monks. but offcourse. this is an easy build. but there are better builds

The reason it's empty is that there's no longer a viable no-communication build (...IWAY) available that has at least a 60%+ success rate (and that people have learned to play), therefore, until one is discovered, the masses of people that used to play these builds have are hybernating, waiting for the next FoTM to appear.

Personally I like playing balanced teams (like mesmer, monking and calling best) and before the transfer of tombs to HoH I was allways capable of finding a group within 15 minutes (started playing after all the fame-farm builds so ranking is only 2 but I knew quite some high ranked grops who were willing to take me as they knew I was capable of doing my part in the team). Nowadays everyone with rank 7-9 is desperatly seeking groups and cant find one in an hour sometimes, how am I supposed to gfind a group now and get to a decent rank level?

I was only trying to say that right now HA is populated mostly with new players or former IWAY players, who after the death of IWAY are a bit at a loss. They dont know how or cant be bothered to form another kind of build. That's why you see so little variety in builds. At least that is the situation in the Europe districts. In international I suppose its different, but you need ranks 6 there. Or so the rumor goes. So i will stick to Noobland for now and try forming my own teams.

I am sorry but I think this is a very large simplification of the issue. I feel the problem is people are leaving Guild Wars in general not that they are leaving HA and doing something else. They are leaving HA and not playing anymore. I am sure the active guilds will tell me this isn't so but I would suggest that they will be the last ones to notice the player base decreasing because of GVG.

What are the sales figures right now? 1 million? How many of those players are still playing?

I think you would be surprised to find out how many people became dedicated gvgers b/c of iway. Iway forced many builds to conform (ie, trapper, warder, warrior=free fame vs iway), and many people didnt like that. Now that iway is nerfed, I would expect to see many players returning to HA, if only b/c you can now test out gvg builds there.
The other advantage to gvg that many players find appealing is that it involves strategy...a mediocre build w/ a brilliant tactician behind it can beat a much better build...it becomes almost more of an RTS game in gvg.

Iway still works perfect now, just added a little mod to it, did 2 runs and made hoh on both, we beat SaaT, lara valors team, and WTB on the way there. People give up way too fast tbh, they see a few bugs fixed in iway and all quit the game.

Been playing today for about 3 hours. There has been an increase in the forming of r3+ balanced teams as well as IWAY.

Kabale is right I think, that many ppl want a non-vent/ts build.

One of the reasons is the level of flaming which occurs sometimes on vent/ts if someone is doing something "wrong".

The other reason is written in the very first thread about IWAY on this site. The build was originally intended as a fun-build. Bunch of warriors smashing faces, dont think and worry too much and fast action.

Although it might be difficult to understand for ppl who despise IWAY (or any similair build), many ppl are in need of an easy to understand build. Not everyone has the time or the will to learn how to play a build which requires a lot of skill, coordination etc.

It's the same as watching TV, some ppl only wanna watch heavy movies like Schindlers List and others like watching something like Rambo.

And let's hope it stays that way, as the popularty of IWAY has been the worst thing in Guild Wars - and we all know it. Well, CUTE wouldn't.

And tbh, it works ok, because ppl have reduced the iway counters in their build in an attempt to bring creative and fresh ideas into the game. Something that IWAY murdered from HoH.

I would not be surprised. Actually the point I was trying to make is that people are leaving Guild Wars and not doing anything else except the active guild memebers. They are playing only GVG because of the enviorment.

For every dedicated GVG person that comes back to HA now that Iway is not as popular how many people did we lose totally?

Everything is back to normal again, lots of IWAY and lots of balanced groups forming.

Actually, IWAY became even stronger. Order necro's now use Dark Fury on warriors which gives them almost unlimited adrenaline, making the damage-output even higher than it was before. As elite they bring martyr, healing hands, WoH or Grenths balance. This adds to the defense of IWAY. Appearently the nerf turned out the other way of what Anet probably intended.

The skills balance made IWAY weaker, there is no way around that.

They lost the hex helm.
They lost the 150% attack speed.
Eviscerate got a bit more of an adrenaline cost.
Orders became less effective.

etc...

Just because some people have possibly found ways to make it still fairly viable does not mean it is anywhere near as good as it was.
