Top 3 elites for HA for each class
Hi all,
I have recently decided to do more PvP than just Random Arenas. I jumped in to HA and tried to join a lot of groups but they always need builds with elites I don't have. I already have 50 elites and I'm surprised I haven't got any that people need. I've decided to go and cap the top 3 elites from each class so I have a good chance of having a build that someone in HA needs.
Could anyone give their take on what the top 3 in each class are? I'm not talking about the top 3 best skills in general, I'm talking about the 3 elites that give me the best chance of making a build that is in demand in HA.
For example, I couldn't do many warrior builds without Evicerate. I couldn't do many Mesmer builds without Energy Surge.
Flame avoidance: I know everyone has different playing styles and the concept of "best skill" is not absolute. My definition of "best" in this case is "the elite that will give me the highest chance of being able to make a build commonly in demand in HA".
Thanks in advance

Hmm..from my experience I'd say the following elites are most prevailent in HA:
Elementalist:Ether Prodigy
Glyph of Energy
Glyph of Renewal
Mesmer: Energy Surge
Migraine
Um..that's about it.
Monk: Word of Healing
Restore Condition
Spellbreaker
*Honourable mention to Martyr and Shield of Deflection
Necromancer: Spiteful Spirit
Order of the Vampire(not so much anymore since the update)
Tainted Flesh
Ranger: Punishing Shot
Oath Shot
Spike Trap
Warrior: Eviscerate
*scratches head.
If I've overlooked a skill, feel free to point it out.

Wither is meh. Its malaise + 2 degen for your target. ooooh, scary.
Everyone knows Malaise isnt a great skill as the people it would work most effectively on, monks, normally have a neg energy item to swap to. At 5 energy energy, its not a bad skill. You can chuck it on rangers and hope they have no focus to swap to. Wither isn't better and it takes up your elite slot >.>
Fevered Dreams: Maybe, for very specific builds.

Haven't seen Obsidian Flesh, Soul Leech or Melandru's Arrows in HA, ever, and I haven't come across Greater Conflagration or Signet of Judgement since the Spirit Spamming and Smite days.

it always depends on the build..
>>Warrior
Eviscerate for axe
Backbreaker for hammer
Charge for sword
>>Ranger
Punishing shot for spikers
Oath shot for trappers
Ferocious strike for beast masters and/or thumpers
>>Monk
Word of Healing for straight healers
Restore conditions for channeling active prot or channeling boon/prot
Signet of judgement for smiters. Smiting is hella fun.
Martyr seems to work better when on a monk secondary...
Necro, elemental, and mesmer are up in the air, IMO. Mantra of recall is standard equipment for monks, but not memsers. Cry of frustration is so amazing that I consider it an elite, but otherwise, I'm not schooled enough in mes and necro to give any valid opinion.

My opinion of elite skills
warrior:
eviscerate
backbreaker
and to some degree Victory is Mine and Charge although VIM is more used in a specific build and Charge is more used for GvG
Ele:
Glyph of Energy
Ether Prodigy
and to some degree Glyph of renewal
Mesmer:
Energy Surge
Migrain
Mantra of recall and energy drain is more used for monk energy management than mesmers
Monk:
Word of Healing
Restore condition
Spell Breaker
Ranger:
Spike trap
Oath Shot
Punishing Shot
Necro:
Order of vampire (not used much now after the nerf)
Spiteful Spirit
Tainted Flesh (used more for IWAY than anthing else)
Wither is used somewhat for degen build and some energy denail although it has become too easy to counter with weapon set swapping.

eh? I havent seen Obsidian Flesh used in HA since the days of team build knockdown/aftershock. When teams ran earthshaker warriors and earthquake/aftershock eles using armour of earth. That was around release i.e. 9 months ago.
Warriors. Havent seen much of Charge - its more a gvg thing but its been there in HA a few times. Dont really see many hammer warriors in HA. If you see one, chances are they are using Backbreaker/Devastating Hammer.
Bull's Charge has been getting more use lately in both gvg and HA. Havent really seen Victory is Mine used that much. VIMway made liberal use of it, but I dont really ever recall seeing that many VIMway groups anyway.
Eles. Elemental Attunement gets used semi frequently.

For monks-
Word of healing is broken and sucks, untill they use it it isnt very effective, I would rather use Kiss, 9/10 times if someone needs a big heal they will be hexed or enchanted, also what I like to do it throw a veil on someone that has hexes, then kiss then remove the veil for that extra added bonus, you hit 200+ heals regularly, especially if the prot is alive.
For monking the best Elites, IMO are Spellbreaker (usually have at least 1 per team)
Martyr (used when you dont have a restore condition, often on spike teams)
Restore condition- a great skill, one of my favorites, turnes the prot into a super healer against condition heavy builds.
Sheild of deflection- it is a great skill if you plan to cap altars (witch should be every team) but it isnt used too often against other builds as many are condition, e-denial or aoe
also, I know it isnt monk but Offering of blood (necro) is a great one to have if you want to monk a lot, you can use OOb with almost any other type of monk. Although many people complain about it getting nerfed, I dont have nay problems running it still....

They fixed it, and it owns. You just need to be decent to use it well.

I tried it yesterday and it was about 50% effective. The DF is added before the determination of 50% or below is made, so if they are within 35 points or so you arent getting the bonus. As far as if I am decent as a monk, I would say yes, I have been playing since day 1 of the game and monk is my primary PvP proffession.
As far as an elite, I think even if it did work properly, it isnt better much better then kiss, and I would rather bring a different elite.
