NPC Energy Levels (Finite or Unlimited)?
Ok, these may or may not be stupid questions, but nonetheless...
Do enemy NPCs such as Archers, Bodygaurds, and Footman have unlimited energy levels? Can the effects of Energy Surge be lost once their energy has been depleted? Do they eventually stop casting spells?
Thanks

Considering bodyguards use glyph of energy as their elite, I hope that they have real energy levels and concerns

Its like PvE imo, all enemies like Eles, Monks, Necros, Mesmers i see has having unlimited health, basically because they never seem to run out. Hell, Thunderclap they can keep up for hours and always eem to have energy...
I'm sure if you spammed E-denial/surge on them enough they would run out though. I can't see them having much different energy values to what real players have.

PvE monsters have limited energy, but it's very high compared to human players. You can verify this by soloing a Wind-born Titan, they spam Chain Lightning until they are exhausted. This tells us that they have a limited amount of energy.

Elementalist monsters in PvE have the most ridiculous high amount of energy possible. You can energy burn the guy 3-6 times, and do a mind burn or something with full energy, you would still lose in max energy. Well, maybe I am exaggerating a bit, but that's how I felt.
Take their regen in mind as well.
Edit: a mix in skill name fixed.

You can drain NPCs to zero energy, but they seem to have a higher natural regen or something, because one can shutdown a monk by energy denial pretty bad while hardly slowing down the healer hench.
Or maybe it just seems so. They have normal health and normal armor level, so they most likely will have normal energy and energy regen.

NPC's often have less than 8 skills and don't constantly cast spells, saving energy while wanding.
It took me ~17 seconds to drain a monk NPC to 0 energy using Spirit Shackles and their own foolishness.
In addition, they cast Healing Touch twice.
They attacked 10 times over that time period (captured on Fraps, I counted through it twice), and as I mentioned, they cast Healing Touch twice.
That's a total of 56-60* energy lost. (On the last attack, they hit 0. That means they had anywhere from 1-5 energy immediately before they struck me. The exact amount is not discernable.)
23 (~22 and 2/3rds) of that energy is accountable for by natural regen.
33-37 is not really unusual for a monk (particularly since
It took me ~6 seconds to drain a warrior NPC to 0 energy using Spirit Shackles.
They attacked a total of 5 times, for a total of 21-25 energy loss.
Natural warrior regen accounts for 4 energy gain.
That means the warrior probably had about 17-21 energy.
Of course, these were Isle NPC's. Monsters could react differently, and bosses even moreso.

NPCs do have a limited energy supply. However they tend to never exhaust it and possibly have greater than 4 pips of energy regen. The result is energy denying them is completely unrealistic, but energy burn can be used to damage them. I wouldn't suggest hitting an NPC with burn then immediately surge as you are likely to lose a little damage.

Hmm, I don't know about the immense natural energy regeneration. Spamming mind wrack and drains on archers / footmen / bodyguards / guild lord seems to be as effective damage-wise as using these skills on a normal player, and as this is the only sufficient measure we have at the time, it would appear that they have pretty average energy pools. For PvE, on the other hand, I have no idea.

PvE monsters have as much energy and energy regeneration as you'd expect from a player of that profession. Their energy levels fluctuate a bit actually because of foci, but the pips are right where they should be.
There might be a few bosses with extra energy regen (like the Mursaat ones) but from all the bosses I've tested they've had what you'd expect, two pips on a warrior boss or four on a caster.

From playing a choking gas/practiced stance ranger and camping on one enemies face, I know they have 50-60 energy. I forget the name of the guy but it was in Iron Mines of Moladune (i think, it was one of the missions in that area) and kept casting holy wrath. I interrupted like 5 or 6 casts before he stopped casting, so that times 10 is about where his energy is.

No one has mentioned yet that the PvE monsters are lvl 24-28. So a bigger energy pool is only logical... (maybe the npc eles have like 18 pts in energy storage :S )

Peace,
