Mantra of Resolve. May aswell make some use of a secondary proffesion.
And as stated, a decent mesmer will easily hit it regardless of fast casting.

if i try to fix any of the inherent problems with the build, it will turn into the fastcasting air spike.
seems like everything i'm coming up with lately is turning into something that's already done before. looks like this aspect of the game is already saturated.

I have no problems hitting a Healing Touch or any other spell along those lines in terms of casting time so it's not like that small bit of time you shave off the 2 seconds is going to protect you from interrupts.

if you focus all your attention on interrupting, you could probably even interrupt an interrupt. however, i doubt you'll want to focus all your attention on that to the exclusion of everything else.
anyways, this build has gone back to the drawing board. i've pretty much abandoned obsidian flame due to the exhaustion issue, and i'm not willing to carry glyph of energy and mantra of resolve just for it. taking them will take away from the flow, which according to you, JR, is a bad thing. not to mention, having the glyph interrupted is pretty nasty too. therefore, i'm not going to carry two extra skills just so i can use a spell every 15 seconds.
anyways, how should i setup the WoH monk? i can't seem to find much examples on it. perhaps i should scrap that and just go with another boon prot.

You can alternate; use Obs Flame with GoE, then without, then with.. etc. This way you can still spike regularly and exhaustion will not become a problem.

Moriz, you dont want to run any boon prot in tombs. Far too much Natures Renewal in tombs which will seriously wreck your team if you rely too much on boon prots.

here's what the build has evolved into:
http://gwshack.us/021b9
major change is that i abandoned obsidian flame completely. it's now a fastcasting air spike with wards. the phantom pain+shatter delusions combo, spread over the two spikers, should make the spike portion lethal enough to kill. i'm not completely sure about the CoF on the first spiker, but it should give the build an edge against other spike builds. the two monks' stats are changed around abit. i went with your suggestion on the WoH monk, except i added in protective spirit instead of signet of devotion. since the WoH will be splitting, having protective spirit will help out quite a bit, despite it being only 7 seconds. in a split situation, the spike damage is just barely able to drop someone. with the wards though, i think the split spike will still be effective because of the ground control.
perhaps i'm trying to do too much with the spikers. granted, the lightning orb-->lightning strike spike won't be costing too much energy, but the extra fluff will.
