These spammer builds are pretty self-explanatory: throw up enchantments, spam ice spear or stone daggers, provide occasional spike or ice hex, and use renewal to regain health and mana. Enchantments provide massive protection for your ele while the spammables do decent dps and activate renewal more quickly. I created these builds a while back after the nerf on renewal to challenge myself to find a build that makes the nerfed elite useful, and this is the best I could come up with.


Earth Spam Kder

Earth: 16 attri
Air: 10 attri
Energy Storage: 12 attri

Earthen Attunement
Elemental Attunement {E}
Obsidian Flame
Enervating Charge
Arcane Echo
Stoning
Aftershock

Throw up your attunements then follow through with an enervating charge. Echo stoning and time your knockdowns carefully to chain kd. AS and OF are pretty self-explanatory. I created this build during the massive whoring of boon-prots in RA and proved that it could do a lot more than shut-down those annoying monks.



The reason I released these builds is because of the recent lack of ingenuity in the elementalist builds in RA recently and to provide those ele lovers a bit of hope in their class and try something new. No doubt, the spammer builds could be used for farming PvE, but I don't think they are efficient enough.

(Note: While these builds allow you to "own it up" in RA, they maybe weak in larger play such as HA and GvG because of their heavy reliance on enchantments to stay alive. The Earth Kd Spammer is the weakest of the spammers because of their reliance on weakness for KDs and their lack of protection.)

Im not sure that Ether Renewal is a very good choice for an elite- you rely too much on enchantments - either just take Elemental attunement or take a damage elite.

How exactly are these "well-rounded"? The first can't do anything except contribute to a spike with Obsidian Flame, and some crappy DPS with Dagger spam. And he's hard to kill if the enemy has no disruption. The second is even worse - he can throw an easily-removed snare once in a while instead of spiking, which is not exactly a great trade. The last one is a bit better, but it's still heavily centered on a gimmick, which I wouldn't quite call "well-rounded".

Why not take advantage of a second profession like mesmer inspiration skills. Since your spells will eat up energy. And when your recharging you'll die from the half-dozen warriors slicing you into dog meat.

Trying to make good builds based on a fundamentally bad elite, when there are perfectly viable alternatives?

Solution: Use Ether Prodigy. Shorter recharge, gives you exactly 2 energy per second its on you, and if you die or it's stripped you're not totaly without energy managment for a good while.

Well that is why we have a second staff with a +20% enchantment duration mod which takes the duration up to 54 and therefore time in which you have to wait for recharge at only 6 seconds. However yes, Ether prod is nice - probably better.

If you don't have a monk on your team taking Prodigy your pretty stuffed. Shatter Enchantment you take about 100 damage + probably at least 50 from Prodigy. Still, better than Ele Attunement any day. Unless your relying heavily on your own enchantments anyway

Also all the attunements now have 45 second recharge. And even if you brought a +20% enchant mod, what does that matter if it gets stripped within 10 seconds of it been cast?

IMO, after playing an ele for a year now, think that spamming spells is the worst excuse of being an ele. Its all about how much damage you can spike at one time with the least amount of energy (why i like Rits so much ). But relying on one skill, like most your build do, doesnt work in PVP at all. Just a big bullseye for mesmers and rangers. And they give you the option of having a 2ndary prof, why not use it?

some ele build i like (might not be the most powerful but REALLY fun)

12-13-14 Water Magic (depends on runes)
9 ES
12 Curses

Water Trident {E} (the best elite EVER)
Deep Freeze/ice prison (depends on energy management)
Ice Spikes
Shard Storm
Swirling Aura/Frost Armor (ranger or wars, which one kills you more?)
Soul Barbs
Parasitic Bond/Incidious Parasite (w/e u want)
Rez Sig

How exactly does that shut down anything Enervating + Stoning = at least 3 secs before KD, and thats nowhere near the 1/4 it takes for a normal inturupt...

Good effort, and good try, however these are too enchantment based as stated before, but i like your attempt at the Water ele. Thats the only reason i have my ele around is to make fun builds. So i commend you on creating these, probably should try them out first though
