Default serious oversights with alliance battles

this is not complaining about the 12v12 format

Since you are now only allowed to see your 4 man team on radar, why dont they have some sort of special alliance battle chat. I am sick of trying to set stuff up in all chat, it just seems so simple that if we are not gonna allow 12 man teams we should at least be able to communicate privatly with them.

also it'd be nice to have arrows to your teamates displayed on the radar. If one person dies then gets ressed back at the start it can be hard to find yer team if yer not on vent or something. Maybe if you clicked on a team members name they put an arrow on yer radar to taht person.

I also wish that we knew which points were capped for our side at any given time. Although thats more of a design choice than the obvious improvements that these other two things would be.

anyone else agree?

Agreed on the battle chat idea.

Not too concerned about the other stuff...

Eventually you'll get to know the maps so well you'll know exactly which point has been taken. And doesn't it say something anyway when it happens? Oh and also, isn't there a little mini-map that says it? :s

it's not knowing the map - its not knowing where your team is...

need to be able to communicate 100% approved!

I agree - team communication would benefit.

My idea would have each 4-player party be listed as party A, B and C. The whole team sees everything in Team Chat, but when someone speaks, their party identifier is listed first. Simple.

Is it me or does it seem the Luxons ALWAYS cap the Res Orb first... Kursicks aren't even close before it gets capped.

At Etnaran Keys the whole map favors the Luxons, because we are losing ground. The shrines are closer to the Luxon side so we can grab them faster.

it's also stupid because I have no idea why it's called "alliance battle" when you can't play with your alliance or your guild, and instead, get matched with randoms! We've had several cases where we had groups of guildies and alliance people to click enter at the same time (just to see if it works) but obviously it doesn't work and half of us get in, and half of us don't.

The issue of team chat is already mentioned.. I can understand the change from 12 people party windows to 4 so party skills like aegis and orders don't go overly abusive, but it still is a pain to not be able to talk to your teammates.

Usually, if we're doing alliance battles we would be using voice chat and so we'd know where to coordinate and where to go etc. It's stupid with PUGS because half the time they go do whatever they want and nearly 80% of the time they die because they aren't following the main group.

I would want something like a Random Alliance Battle, and a Team Alliance Battle. Just like in Random Arena and Team Arena. I'm not sure how this will work, but maybe have a window to select the other 2 teams that will be in your alliance battle...
