ok, so heres my problem....

During the March (24th) Preview weekend, We decided to go for Kurzick to see what it was like, Since they said that Alliance/Guild Faction would be re-set prior to release, we diddnt see an issue with this (we'd make our decision which side to fight for)

So, we go Kurzick, the preview weekend ends, our alliance Faction Gradually drops over the course of the next 2/3 weeks or so... we are currently at 1 Kurzick Alliance Faction..

We have ultimatly, decided to go for Luxon, I get to Cavalon (Luxon Capitol) I talk to the 'Luxon Ambassador' and all his speech "as the leader of...... and We.....and the I....." business..

I click Accept, he asks for 500 Gold to send gifts to the Captains... (currently have 5k in my inventory) I click Accept, he takes 500 gold, and gives it me straight back....

I Currently have more Luxon Faction points than Kurzick...

Have also tried going to the Kurzick Capitol, and talking to the ambassador, thinking maybe I need to 'Leave' - but nooo, he just gives this "You have already pledged your allegience to the Kurzick" business...

so, my question is....

HOW THE HELL ARE WE SUPPOSED TO SWITCH!!!???

its not a "whose side are you permanently on" kind of thing. You're able to pledge allegiance to both factions, but having a lot of kurzick faction makes the luxons hate you and vise-versa.

But I have more Luxon Faction than Kurzick, We want to fight for the Luxons, but we have Kurzick in the guild hall, the alliance is currently, Kurzick (with 1 Kurzick alliance Faction)

it is a "whos side are you on" thing :|

but the point is, why wont the Luxon Ambassador let me switch? why does he take the 500, and give it back?

I have no idea why that is happening to your guild. I have switched sides both ways.

well they fixed it so you can accept both quests now for access to lux and kur sides of the map. And they made it relatively inexpensive to pledge faction to either side in each capital. 500 gold I believe. However this action can ONLY be done by the alliance leader. If you are not allied then it requires your Guild Leader to do it.

All Invited Allied guild must be have the same alliance standing ( I think this was part of the bug fix Anet had to work out to prevent exploiting dual side access to alliance battles). I found that out today when inviting some of our allies in...

Also the easy Hall transfer system is great. Since I made a rule hat every ally MUST have a different hall, its kinda nice cause in a since the HT alliance right now has several halls to choose from for battles... And equally interesting allies can help purchase services for each other as well... So if you want to spread services out between allied Halls that works too...

The only shame is its hard to see who's online in the alliance. they need like a who's online screen. not the full roster, just a way to see who's online and who isn't... The alliance chat works great was very happy with that as well...

ok, were currently the only guild in the alliance, i wish to form a Luxon alliance,

as stated above, were currently, Kurzick, with 1 alliance faction point (from the Preview weekend) I have been told I need to get this to 0 before we can pledge to the Luxon (The guy takes the 500 gold, and gives it straight back) (and yes, im the alliance / guild leader)

i too am having the same problem, only switching from luxon to kurzick, maybe its a bug that they haven't been able to address and fix yet, i'd like to be able to reform my alliance since we're all switching to the kurzick and i am the only one who is yet unable to. the lady i have to talk to though just keeps taking my money and handing it right back to me. it's really bugging me.

i tried out this(switching to luxon from kurzick, we had 1 faction left from fpe) with my guild and it worked for us

About how long and at what rate does the Kurzick faction run out or disappear? We are trying to join an alliance and switch to Luxon but cant because we have Kurzick in the Guild bank, but we need to know at what rate it decreases.

during the Preview weekend (FPE) We urned around 12,000 faction, we spent some and we were down to about 4,000 when the FPE ended, this dropped over the course of about 2 weeks to what were at now...... 1 -- we have been on 1 for the remaining 2/3 weeks since then, and its not dropped to 0, so I couldnt say the rate it drops.

Durance of fate had the same problem, I just disbanded the guild and remade it, then took luxon, its really cheesy to have to do it, but if you cannot wait thats what you can do.

Tell everyone to log off for a few hours. Apparently guild faction degrades when no one is on.

I have since found out (by contacting the support) that having the '1' alliance faction doesnt matter, it doesnt need to hit '0'

Were on the screen shot stage with support now, after answering all thier 'obvious' retarded questions.... ill let ppl know what happens.

we are having exactly the same problem switching from Kurzik to Luxon. I have more Luzon faction than Kurzik and our alliance Faction was down to one. Nothing works, including making someone else guild leader...

I have logged a call with support yesterday...they have asked for various bits of info but no real progress yet.

It is really annoying as we are waiting to ally with 4 other guilds and cant till we switch...

We were able to swap just fine.... until....

Since Kestral couldn't swap her guild over, we moved to Kurzick, invited them, then tried to swap back. Even after they left, we could not swap back to Luxon. They left originally (rather than being booted; I reinvited, and booted them and still can't swap).

I know that they invited (but the invite was never accepted) another guild in into an alliance while Kurzick shortly after the game went retail.

Ghozer, Omega, were you in an alliance or send out invites before trying to swap sides?

Edit: Time difference between a swap Luxon -> Kurzick -> Luxon -> Kurzick-> invited Kestral's guild -> attempt failed switch while in alliance -> have them leave the alliance -> attempt failed switch on own: total 15-20 minutes. I did nothing but whisper Kestral, change towns, change allegiances, invite her guild, attempt to change allegiances, etc.

I have done both "To Cavalon!" and "To House zu Helter!" quests, in fact beaten the game going through the Kurzick side of things but was still able to switch. We lost our ability after all of this only once we invited another guild into our alliance while Kurzick.

Another problem with our current Kurzick faction in the Guild Bank is that we dont know how to spend it if we can. So how do you do this?

Sorry but i can't really say more. As i see we had exact the same situation as Ghozer. We had 1 faction left on kurzick side from fpe. We never allied with anyone or invited anyone to alliance before switch. I am the leader, i had more luxon faction than kurzick when i tried to switch. We switched to a new guild hall(not rebuild guild) 1-2 days before, but that doesn't matter that's for sure.

When i will reach House Zu Heltzer(in 1-2 days probably), i will try to switch back, will report the results.

We never did Sunjiang mission, never talked to Jamei(i dont know if she teleports people to Cavalon or Hzh), we went to Cavalon by exploring the map. I am sure this not counts, or shouldn't count.

Update:
Kestral's Guild can now switch.

We still cannot.

They invited several days earlier than us, and started with support earlier than us.

Is this glitch or bug with the 1 left over faction just when you want to switch from Kurzick to Luxon or does it happen when you want to switch from Luxon to Kurzick as well?
