Stupid Scarred Earth
In HA, every1 is always sayin "I hope we skip Scarred Earth", as the map often takes 4ever.
This map needs some changes. It should be worth double fame or at least faction since ur team has to beat 2 teams to advance.
Sometimes, when one of the 2 teams is an iway team, if the iwayers' pets died while fightin the first group, the iway team doesnt wanna go to the other team's side since they wanna be able to use iway off the pets corpses. The other winning team (sometimes iway also) doesnt wanna go to the other side because they do not wanna give the iway team the advantage of iway'ing off their pets corpses. So... what do u get? 2 teams randomly standing around saying stuff like "Come here u nubs" and "U get over here u pussies" . This continues for about 10 minutes, when usually, an impatient member of one team runs over and the rest of the team is forced to follow.
This map is more of a test of patience than skill. Some of us dont have that much free time.
Also i dont know if this is a bug or if they dont know about it but once, i was playin a e-surge/ cc mesmer and i used cc and i teleported to a corpse on their side (while the other 2 teams were still fightin). I couldnt get back to my own side since there were no corpses nearby. The winning team saw this and killed me, and then killed the rest of the other team. This was around a month ago so iunno if they fixed it by know.
I dunno what but this map needs changes. Any suggestions?

iwayers have no patience (why else would they play iway?) so you can wait them out.
problem one solved.
oh wait you don't have much free time (in that case, how do you find the time to do HA?).

Its not only iwayers.
And no, i dont wanna "wait them out". The impatient player is usually me lol, and thats becuz I don't feel like wasting 20 minutes doing nothing just for a chance to win and advance.
Sometimes if u kill the first team quickly ur reward is to wait 4ever until the other 2 teams finish, which could take up to 10 mins.
Scarred Earth battles can last half an hour sometimes, its ridiculous even most gvg's dont take that long.

IWAY teams do seem to play more defensively than usual when it comes to the 2nd round of scarred earth. Stare downs with IWAY teams I imagine are quite common during this time. My team had one once and I just told my team that we would certainly win the waiting game and sure enough after some 5 to 8 minutes we did and they did not even all charge at us at once which made them easy to pick off one by one.
Of the 8 maps leading up to HoH, if I could only pick one to skip it would be scarred earth. It is frustrating when you have completed your first match and have to wait 10 to 20 minutes for the other one to complete. I like scarred earth quite a bit when only 2 teams (instead of 4) are present, but this does not happen often.
Here are the changes I would suggest:
- award fame for the first win separate from the second win
- open the gate for the 3rd team to join once they have been waiting for 5 minutes AND the clock has at least 10 minutes elapsed
- once the gate has been opened to allow a 3 team fight, the other two teams do not get fame for the first phase of the fight and can only obtain fame by being the overall victor of the map

I hate scarred also, today i went in around 15 times with about 10 times an instant skip from zaishen to scarred. Then u lose and the same thing happens again, and people ragequit and blablabla 2 hours of work for nothing.
So Anet, please nerf this map (less skips to it)!

I can't remember the name of it atm but the second map was designed as a 3-4 team map as well so just be happy you only have scarred earth to worry about.

while is Scarred earth is frustating IMO Coortyard is the map i dont like.
in scarred earth you can easy say the best team win.
In Coortyard a good component of luck is needed aswell

On another note, why doesn't your IWAY fit in Revive Animal?... Or why don't you just find another build.

If you do not like Courtyard, then you must not like HoH either. These two maps are very similar except that on Courtyard no team begins as the holding team.
I think you just need to re-define your concept of "best" for both Courtyard and HoH. The best team on these maps is the one that avoids the conflict too early, can entice the other two teams to fight each other, and can move in on the other two teams fighting each other at just the right time when they are weakened and ready to be exploited. The "best" team on these maps is not always the one that would beat the other two in 1-on-1 confrontations. Oftentimes, past history affects the events on these maps -- kind of like the show Survivor. Certain teams that very much dislike each other may be willing to form an alliance with the more neutral team to ensure the team they dislike is dispatched. It is truly amazing how many private messages fly around during battles on these maps.

Second, most Iway groups dont bring revive animal

If you guys want to complain about scarred earth, then you clearly weren't around when Burial Mounds and Scarred Earth were 6-way. Games were also a lot longer back then, and the waiting out when it came down to a 3-team free-for-all and gankfest was ridiculous. It was almost no skill and just whoever the third team decided to not attack that would win. Games would often last over an hour on these maps for ONE fame. That said, you have it easy. Having to wait for a 1v1 sounds very silly.

Yes, i know how burial mounds used to be but sorry, Im just not the type of person to settle for crap, i dont care how things were in the past. Im not complainin about the fact that there are 4 teams, but rather the way that many battles play out.

I simply assumed you were playing IWAY, and that it was your IWAY group based on your posts.
You gave both teams being IWAY as an example, and said that there's usualy one impatient player. Then you said that you were that impatient player. To further this, in saying "did i say it was MY iway group?" you just as much confirmed you were playing IWAY. You couldn't know what two groups were doing if you weren't in one of them too... Either way, if you were or weren't playing IWAY is off topic and utterly pointless. No one cares.
As for Revive Animal, I don't care if "most" groups bring it or not, it's a viable skill for IWAY to bring. One could argue that "most" warriors in HA don't use Frenzy, and instead opt for a warrior using Tiger's Fury, or use no attack speed buff at all. That doesn't mean a warrior using Frenzy is inferior, or not viable. If you're constantly playing IWAY and waiting at the first area in Scarred Earth because your pets are dead, why not bring it?

For a start IWAY are the best teams to come up against on this map, reson 1 is that IWAY is so easy to beat anyways, second if the second team you have to play is IWAY they will have noramly run out of res sigs and only have about 5 players alive.
The main reson for me liking this map is it get's rid of the crap teams quite early on, the 2 better teams win then have to fight each other.
Also IMO burial mounds and Scarred Earth should be restored back to 6 teams playing on it, so much more fun.

Wtf r u talking about, unless theyre total nubs or got severly eoe bombed they'd still have 8 ppl + rez sigs. (killin ghostly recharges rez sigs,in case u didnt know)
Its the 4th map so u wont see too many really bad groups here (unless of course they skipped) in that case its probably during "dead" hours. Crap groups will lose eventually, i dont see ur point.
U obviously didnt understand what i meant about this map needing changes.
If u were joking about wanting scarred earth and burial mounds restored then great. If not, then gl finding ppl who agree with that.

Who cares about ghostly dieing just keep Frozen Soil down, use Shadowsong and Soothing and take down the R/Mo first, you can flawless IWAY in less than 2min.

You would be suprised most teams skip a lot of the maps even joing prime time playing times.

I know a few people who would agree with me and the only teams what will suffer from this is IWAY, VIM WAY and just general bad teams. I think it will clean up halls a bit of the really bad teams.

Ner this isn't a bug but it is a lot of fun
The only thing i think needs change is, say if red team vs. blue team and blue team capture the obelisk, then red team beat blue and the others teams are still fighting red team will put the ghost near the obelisk so the ghost dies. Making it so the 2nd team you fight could be at a disadvantage with not been able to get a moral boost.
I do this all the time but i thing that when blue team dies all the blue obelisk should become unasigned again, it would make it more fair.

scarred is good as it is, would be better as it used to be with 6 teams. it gets rid of useless teams that you dont want as the 3rd team in hoh. thins out the numbers of bad teams you face later, yes I like the free fame but it bores the hell out of me. I like a challenge not a walk in the park.
If you arent flawlessing iway (even with their dead pets lmao) then do something else, seriously.
Oh on another note, I have had a really long scarred earth fight, lost the screenshot when i got a new hard drive. I will get it off a guildie tonight or get them to post. if i remember rightly it was 18 hours. ill post it later today hopefully.
