in support of the effort by mtm in the thread: http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s....php?t=3009211

and as confirmed by william stark, I have made an IRC channel for easier organization for getting groups in Hero's Ascent. Since the GW friends list is wayyy to crude for this, I'm hoping this method will fix the problems. So come visit the channel and lets start the HA party

server: irc.gamesurge.net
channel: #gwparty
(PUG sounds just too ...ugly -_-)

For those of you that're not familiar with IRC, its a chatting network which stands for Internet Relay Chat. You can get the client at http://mirc.com

when you first start it up, in the window that pops up, type "/server irc.gamesurge.net" to join the server, then type "/j #gwparty" to join the channel.

EDIT: If you wish to be on multiple servers at once, type "/server -m irc.gamesurge.net" in the main window

feel free to idle in the channel....actually it is encouraged since its a new channel and not many people are on >.< the first step is to get people to be on at all times.

If you are going to set up a new channel, make it on gamesurge. If you have to choose one, thats the one you choose because thats the one everyone is going to use. Some players (for other games it seems like mostly Eu) use quakenet, but thats a minority.

I also have to pimp xchat because its the client I use. Its more functional the mirc, and its free (if you get the older versions or are using non-windoze). The GTK+ theming is also a bonus, if you are into that.

erm.... gw = guild wars...and since its an online game...gwonline?

was gonna gwha but...that looks fugly. Is it an unacceptable name? how bout...gwpartiallyonline....cuz of the instanced world... I say that's going too far -_- but...that's just me.

Its just there is a 'rival*' website to guru of the same name.

*Take the term rival very loosely. 99% of what is posted on gwo's pvp section is utter crap. JR and Wheel may be harsh moderators but at least we dont get moronic threads that dont die.

Just finished trying out HA with the first person to stay around this channel...

the rest of party were found by PUG... It was fun i guess... but making party took too long and yea...we lost a lot. Had to go over everything everytime someone left and we had to get a new pary member. We finally got a act together on last round with a real caller, but oh man....the other team was so good. bleh... migrane killed our blood spikes.

its kinda lonley in here... you guys should stop by.

Can't connect from work....damn firewall...any way to tunnel through 80 or 8080 ports (currently on 6667 methinks)?

well if everyone is adamant about it i don't really have a choice. But you guys do know that you can be on multiple servers at once right?
