The way it is now, tainted is useless unless you fight another iway. Since the necro is already going death, why not pump virulence in there for an extra -7 degen on pretty much anybody? Then again, glyph of energy would help the taint pull off profanes and meteor showers.

Incorrect. Any team with any melee damage (read almost all balance teams) will pick up the disease which can be easily spread to the rest of their team.

I personally think the Rangers should be complete utility characters instead of just trapping. For instance carrying just barbed and dust and running some nice Necro or mesmer hexes such as Rigor Mortis, Defile Flesh etc.

Uh, other way around. Tainted Flesh is useless against IWAY. They're already using Tainted Flesh on themselves, so the disease won't spread.

Wrong, disease will spread on your team as soon as one of your untainted warriors is hitting someone who is tainted. Read skilldescription.

tainted wont be very good on factions, ward of stability ftw, you can out something better in there instead, like a 16 curses order of apostasy nec, iway might even be able to hold halls, with ooa up you can take down heroes easily, weaken armor can make it even easier to kill.

This maybe a stupid question but Ive never really played IWAY before.
Why are all the Warriors using Axe? Is there a particular reason? Because for the "I will avenge you" skill, it doesn't have a requirement.. or at least I don't think so. Is there any reason they use Axe over, lets say... Hammer? I kind of like Hammer warriors so I was just curious. The only reason I can see is because of Eviscerate.... but Hammer Wars have some nice skills and elites too. And you could still use the "core" IWAY stuff that is needed.

It's not cause of the damage. The reason is that you dont have a shield when using a hammer. That doesnt only means less armor, but less health as well (assuming you use a +XXhp shield). The limited ammount of healing/protection in iway makes using a shield vital.
A sword atm aint good cause there are not enough directdamage skills (final trust is too much adrenaline and relies on your enemy to be below 50% health)
However, there will be some nice new swordskills after factions, so who knows? We might see the return of swordwarriors in pvp.

Most GvG builds have a sword Warrior with Charge.

Ah! That makes sense...
All the same, is there no room for any variety or is Axe just simply better (because of the shield and health) Could you not run for example 2 Axe IWAY Warriors, 1 Hammer Warrior, 1 Sword Warrior (for Charge as Roy mentioned) and then the rest of the build. Necro, Monk, etc...?? Just seems like they are missing out on some utility. I find with Hammer Warriors you don't REALLY need the extra health and armor because they specialize in knockdowns, they keep their oponent pinned a nice while so they don't get hit quite as often. At least thats how I view it. Not to mention you can bring a lot of skills that cause heavy weakness.
Just a suggestion. This maybe talked about a 100 times before, Ive never really played IWAY before (although faced it about 20-30 times at least) so I thought I would try and contribute

The best thing about axes is that you really only need two attack skills on your bar to be effective. Evsicerate + Executiuoners. (note that this is also the best damage combo in the game).
This leaves the maximum number of slots available for utility skills - such as interrupts and sprint.
Both swords and Hammers require at least 3 skill slots to acomplish what Axes do in two... And the deep wounds on both swords and hammers are conditional!!! Really there is no comparison...

A good tainted has to know when to use which corpse control skill. Lets say your playing defensive and they r-spike down 1 of your people. Actually this is a dumb example, because you'd be an idiot to play defensive vs an r-spike, but anyways, just for the sake of an example, lets say that happens. You'd be an idiot to use putrid or profane on that corpse, because its gonna do NO GOOD AT ALL! Obviously, you CC that corpse. But lets say you get a corpse in the middle of an enemy ball, obviously you putrid it. If you CC'ed into it you'd die, so why CC it? What if theres a corpse in the middle of some enchanted enemies or on an alter? Profane time!
Its all about using the right skills in each situtation. Thats what seperates the really good tainteds from the noob or average tainteds, in my opinion.
Anyways, much like Xeon, I don't see tainteds being much use in factions.

Wow.. Yuna can see WHERE every corpse drop + its surroundings... I can only tell when...
Talking about adjustment to taint... Can you afford to drop tainted flesh if other iway still use it? I dont think so. With Factions coming up... I would pefer to drop the ele 2nd class for more effective interupts.

Well considering Corpse Control is a Taint's main job they should be watching where each corpse drops and using the right skill depending on where it drops.
And yes I agree with you. Knockdowns will no longer be the meta-game thanks to ward of stability. So yea, its either changing ele to an interupter, or what I think will happen, which is completeley ditching the taint for either a 2nd order or another warrior.

Tips for Sprint Warrior
I know this thread is a little old, but I need some help on playing the Sprint Warrior.
On alter maps I know my job at the begining, but I never can seem to get to the alter before the enemy team gets there and they always interrupt our hero more than we can interrupt theirs. So my questions
1) what do you do as the sprint warrior after the enemy caps first?
2) what am I doing wrong that I cant get to the alter as quickly as I need to. My attributes in strenght are 9 axe 16 Beast 10
An unranked pug I was in had a halls skip and probably 80% of the team had never been to that map before. Whos job is it to take the Ghost to the alter? I was blamed for losing and nobody was mad because we didnt think we would win anyways, but it turned out that if someone (possibly me) would have brought the ghost down we would have won it.
1) what is the sprint warriors job on the halls map
2) Who is supposed to take the ghost
Also what are som general pointers that you can give to a sprint warrior. From pug IWAY the sprinter seems to be the biggest liability on the team, if you have a good one you do quite well, if you have a poor one you simply cant beat certain maps. I play the sprinter because in unranked I just dont trust other warriors to do the job as well as I do it (and Im not that great and need help)
Any help on this would be much appreciated.
