I dunno, in my experience most Tombs teams run heavy enchantment removal like Gaze Of Contempt or Order of Apostasy to clear ghosts. It's a good point though, and you could probably keep Conjure up in 'most' matches against the teams that aren't coordinated enough to keep tossing Rends your way.

This may be a stupid suggestion (so dont flame me), but wouldnt a second aegis on the smiters (maybe sub out one smite hex) be good for a continual chain?

You're right, I didn't factor in Conjure, didn't see it in your post :-/
Either way, I've found most (good) teams bring a rend enchantment or order of apostasy, or both. So that screws you with your 60s recharge on conjure. Although you will be doing more dps than a hammer with it up.
Shock is non-spammable. It's going to take you 30 seconds to clear all the exhaustion. Obviously it can be used more than every 30 seconds, you'll just have to deal with more and more exhaustion as the match goes on, or stop using Shock. Knockdowns on the other hand, well last time I checked Devastating Hammer was powered by adrenaline, and only costs 7 adrenaline. Last time I checked hammer swing speed with IAS (roughly one hit every 1.2s) will charge that in 8.4 seconds, with no misses obviously. So you're going to be getting a KD about every 9.6, if everything works flawlessly with Frenzy up. Almost the same as the 10.75 second recyle on shock, just without the factor of exhaustion limiting your use of the KD.
Basicaly I think you can rely on the hammer more for conistent knockdowns in the course of a match, but they can't be on-demand all the time due to you needing to hit (or in case of Irresistible Blow needing to be blocked). If you change secondarys, you also loose the condition return aspect, which can be very nice. Especialy since you're not running a draw, and instead running a monk with Restore Condition.
Running a shock-axe is also viable, but I feel the original use of hammer fits this build better. If you were to change it to a shock-axe, I'd certianly add in a draw on one of the smiters.

I got a chance to run this earlier tonight at it worked pretty well. You don't normally get kills until a minute or two into the match, but once you do it's a constant chain. As soon as some key monks get good skills diversioned or burned enough, then the hammer warriors constant DPS aided by the smiters adds up.
We switched Plague Touch for Shock on the Warrior.
