Degen!!!
What is it with Guild Wars now?
The whole PvP thing has gone to crap. There are so many degen skills that when you walk into battle you are lucky if you can even reach the other party before you (or they) are dead! Is that what PvP is meant to be all about? Who can cast degen the fastest! What a dumb game!
What happened to using skills in fighting, better attacks at the rear, aiming attacks, combinations etc... At least before factions degen worked in harmony with fighting. There are so many degen skills now and they are so strong that this is all PvP has become, lots of degen skills, what fun.
Start of game --> cast degen, cast degen, cast degen, cast degen, win/lose.
Boring!!! C'mon Anet, is this really how you intended GW to be played?

'Degen' is just one type of build used in PvP, there are plenty of others you have obviously yet to encounter.
I am sorry, but don't take your lack of experience and skill out on Anet. Simmilarly; don't talk about things you obviously know little about.

If you can't handle degen, 2 things: Why are you losing? ( Solve it ), and Why are you complaining? ( It's a good standard GW mechanism IMO )

OP must be pretty new or not very good at adapting in PvP...
OP you can counter and help the team out by bringing... reveal hex, inspire hex, expel hex (to name a few) to help your team out.. and gg for your team... LOL

Learn to counter Degen... for example Troll Urgent does wonders against Degen of all kinds.

Degen isn't such a bad thing in PvP - its a nuisance but at least it has its counters and you just need to come more prepared for it. A month of go it was the complete opposite because whoever could spike the fastest won - pretty much.

JR's avatar kicks ass.
People play to win. Yes there are a ton of degen hexes, but everything has a counter. If degen has you down, just max out Wilderness Survival and bring Melandru's Resilience, at least until you can make a better strategy. Or bring Purge Signet, get 5 or 6 hexes on you and then dump them all at once. Or maybe you'll have a noob monk who uses Shield of Regeneration for his elite. Yeah, that'll save you.

I'd have to agree.. this thread is just a flame target.
Spikes have ZERO degen, and they just as popular if not more..
Balanced, has a mix of everything.. very very popular in Gvg
Dual smite, no degend here either, just tons and tons of damage.
Pressure Build, does have alot degen but also has AoE.
ViM Build, probably the most amount of degen but isnt that popular.
Bunny Thumpers, has a small amount of degen but is mainly melee damage.
IWAY... the KING of popular builds.. may feature a trap or two, certainly NOT degen.
Conclusion, OP is an idiot.. or a noob.. probably both.

Anyone else see the RA lone Wammo using sprint to outrun his teammates and get to the waiting (and salivating) enemy necros, mesmers and rangers first?
I've dubbed that sprint "the suicide run", and I've seen it one time too many.

While I too would like tactics to matter more, and while I too would like Guildwars to be more Counterstrike: Fantasy than Magic The Gathering: 3D, I have to say that the biggest threat to warriors have always been degen, and facing multiple necros, mesmers etc alone have always been suicide for warriors.

I think they didn't envision your warrior to take on multiple casters alone. I think they rather expected you to have backup.

I don't use a degen build.
I have gone entire alliance battles without a death, while still capping plenty of points.
Waaah Waah too much degen

Degen hexes are definitely overpowered and always have been in my view, as have hexes in general, seeing as it's a lot easier to put nasty hexes on in a heated battle than it is to take them off.
However, degen is not "new" and when more people realize how overpowered it is, it will just become more and more common.
/agree that degen hexes should be nerfed and/or hex counter abilities should be buffed (ie: let you choose which hex to remove from someone).

Yes, because casters haven't been nerfed enough. /endsarcasm
Hexing and degen is fine and has never been a serious problem. The problem is that people use the same monk builds in places like HA (WoH, SB/Infuser and Prot or Bonder) and that doesn't allow much flexiblity. Whats wrong with mesmers taking Shatter Hex, Hex Breaker or Inspired Hex? No, it must be the cookie-cutter E-Surger or Migraine mesmer these days. Perhaps its the players that need nerfed.

I know whats wrong here, the OP has been playing IWAY and feels that every loss if because the opposing team is lame and imba and that his build is the true definition of fairplay.
