Is there any build that is NOT considered "cookie-cutter"? Seriously.

Thing is that they are cookie-cutter builds, but every build that works will become cookie-cutter build. Only now it goes even faster since there is observe mode. If you try to be original and make something on your own and the build you made works, tomorrow everyone will be playing it. That's how the things work.

Here's the two things I do if I have diversion on me:
1) use inspired hex automatcally and cast my new hex on the mesmer that aggrovated me.
2) if i already have a new hex from IHex, i just cast Divine Boon.(since i play boon/prot) Not that much harm to it. If it gets shattered, so what? I can still spam rof and prot spirit.

True story - you have to "borrow" a diversion from a fellow monk to make my strategy work.

Why don't you just cast the hex that has been borrowed? What the hell do you care if your inspired mind wrack gets diverted.

I don't play much high level pvp (gvg, Hero's) but the other day while watching a top 20 guild, i noticed their healing managing to cancel her/his healing orsion/Blessed light when diversion hit at the stage where you cannot pull out. Unknown to me i found that esc key cancels mid-cast as you probably all know, but is this imployed often and is it worth trying to get good at?
Just for the record it happened atleast three times during the match, so obviously it was a not just a once off.

I've actually bound 'cancel action' to G, for just such a purpose, but I'm still getting the hang of using it. I think it's a wholly legit tactic, against diversion, shame, ineptitude, etc.

Definately. It's something that basicly involves one key press to make Diversion a whole lot less scary. Having to land Diversion less than half a second or so before your target finishes casting something in order to be certain it will stick makes it a whole lot harder to spam.
A trick well worth learning.

Diversion is a nasty spell. It makes me slow down, and my healing doesn't work. Kai Ying says I should remove the hex, but my bar is full.

Everyone's bar is full, but you have to make your build for the battlefield before you. If you cannot bring it; then you better have coordinated with the rest of your team and somehow compensated your not having a hex removal. Althou, I highly recommend you make room.

Uh, if you are in trouble and too stupid to know how to inspired hex, hex breaker, or holy veil.
Then just sacrifice a skill.
Simple.

You may have to tell the developers. I have no control over my skill bar. Please also suggest that they give me a secondary profession.

Management on I-hex is better actually, preveil sometimes gets shattered real easy, and when you re-preveil you might have diversion on you already ( happened to me once or twice ).

Very much worth it. Find a key you can hit every time and quickly (escape is very good for this), bind it to cancel action and practice hitting it ASAP when you see diversion. It's instinctive to me now, I hit it even when I'm not casting if a diversion lands.

Just to add a little something, I think it's unwise to cast an Inspired hex back on to the original caster, cause they'll see it coming and know it won't do shit cause you don't have the attributes. If you're going to cast it on someone, it should be someone other than the original guy, cause certain hexes could scare the original caster's teammates into being distracted if they don't check the stats (ie SS or Backfire-type spells). I wouldn't spam just any hex back though cause if it doesn't work as a decoy it's just a waste of mana, not to mention it can open you up to crap like Power Spike/Leak or Savage Shot.
BTW I realize the advantage to casting a hex with a second Diversion--talking about something else.

WTF?
...part of me wants to laugh... part of me want to know what is going on here?
Noob or bug? put in the bets pls...
i-hex ftw vs diversion, diversion is only annoying when its cast "luckily" during your RoF cast... One more tip: mesmers often focus on your cast rate, so they can estimate where to drop diversion... make sure you know the cool-down period of diversion and dont cast to predictable... same holds for interupts and more skills...

Unless I'm missing something, doesn't Inspired Hex have a 20 second cooldown, while Diversion has a 10 second recharge?
That means that the Inspired Hex would work for the initial Diversion cast on you, but you'd likely have a second Diversion put into effect before you can use Inspired Hex again. That effectively buys a little bit of time for the Monk, but he's still gonna be down for 10 seconds unless he wants to sacrifice one of his spells to the Diversion gods.
Holy Veil seems to be a better option (to me), since it only has a 12 second recharge, so you have a better shot of sneaking it in between Diversions.

Aside from the fact that (as already discussed) you can use the hex you Inspired as a 'get out of jail free' card with the next Diversion that lands on you. In good conditions that is two Diversions gone for every cast of Inspired Hex.

Help me please.
I dont know what i'm doing wrong but is true revealed hex is same as inspired hex.
Well...diversion lands on me...I want it off so I cast revealed hex - yeah diversion goes but not into revealed hex.
Revealed hex is disabled for 40 seconds so for love or money could someone tell me how inspired hex is meant to work on diversion?
