Team chat in AB, defining groups?
Hi there, I was wondering if there's any features in the current guild wars and alliance battles that allows easy identification of the teams of players.
As I see it there are number notations for each party member 1-4 but no way of knowing if the player battle planning in chat is in a particular team. Wouldn't it be easier to co-ordinate matches with say A-D parties and have numbers for each leader of that party ?
//edit The amount of 4 players teams isn't really where my current problems are its really just having the chat feature more user friendly by seeing --> char name (teamA) "we're capping dragon roost" or --> char name (teamB) need healing power at quarry.//edit
If anyone knows of something I missed somewhere or links to another similair answered thread on this topic please post.

i dont know of any thread that has suggested this, but its a good idea. i'd like to be able to talk to my team(as they are most often guild mates), without spamming the rest of the alliance's teams. Usually my team runs around capping points as the rest of the alliance just seems to want to "omg get the shiny dragon!", or just camp one point..and we need to be able to call targets and stuff without the rest of the alliance teams spamming as well..there needs to be a toggle whether you want to call the target to everyone or just your team..but that may be to complicated. :/ But yes any notation of which team who's on would be nice.

Sounds like a good idea.
Being able to turn off "Ally" chat while they're at it would be awsome. Maybe turn Trade chat into "Ally" chat...
Fixing it so that people on your Ignore list are actualy ignored when they talk in Ally chat would be really nice too...
Of course, I don't think ANET really thought too much about Ally chat, because it seems like it was a very rushed feature...

I thought another temperory measure would be to try and nickname teams as the leaders have a number one denoting their position in their groups, but this would require (for me) alot of pre- planning/ explaining time before each AB game.
Basically warrior esus (esus) , cartoonhero (cart) ect, but I still think a defined group would work better and cause less confusion.
why not also ctrl-c the team notation and ctrl-v before each direction in the game is given, mmm yeah idk.
When I play monk I always heal my ally as well , mapped control to my R key and display names (targets) just click to go, suprised me a few times when I tried to rez an ally and got invalid but yeah can't win em all I guess=P
