Hello! My guild came across the fact that we wanted to try something "special" and "different" from the typical balanced builds that are being ran today in GvG.

We came up with a build that was basically composed of :

2 Warriors (W/A, W/*) - Dragon Slash + Sever/Gash + Sun N Moon Warriors.
3 Mesmers (one is essentially a necro... Me/Mo is the cleaner.)
2 Monks
1 Flag Runner Elly

The Warrior/Assasin is what I have the question about. The build if you can see obviously lacks a character that can go back to the base and help out the flag carrier or someone to relay flags with, and thats why we came up with a plan that our W/A will drop Frenzy (and Rush) to place them with Spring and Dark Escape (yes, this stance cancels when you attack). Basically, the W/A will spread Sever and Gash in the field and when the time comes, he will run back with both stances and help out the flag carrier. By doing this, the W/A can also serve as a secondary flag runner.

However, if you put out frenzy on a sword warrior, his spiking potential will decrease by a big margin. But, should we care about spiking that much? So, heres my main question:

If the hex stacking is done correctly, would it be necessary to have both warriors have frenzy to finish someone off? Also, is it worth it to have two running stances just for that helping out/secondary flag runner occasion?

I know heal party owns Degen builds, but we're willing to try it out. We also considered using Scourge Healing as well. But yes, my concern right now is what to put on the warriors... Also, we do not have any "snares" so to speak and our Runner Elly is a air elly... my other question would be if Snare hexes (Imagined Burden, Ethreal Burden..) would be necessary. Obviously it will help, but is it 100% necessary to a build?

I know this article covers a broad range of factors to consider, but it would be much appreciated for any insights/advices/comments. Thank you.

For me, a warrior without BOTH a speed boost and an attack speed boost is a gimped warrior. I think that every build needs to have the ability to spike weak opponents, otherwise, yes, heal party will own you.

In general terms, snares are very important, most especially for flag control (you want your flag runner to be going as fast as possible and theirs as slow as possible) but also in general play. Sadly it is true that most enemies will run away from your warriors, and if you cant stop them doing so then they are going to survive longer than you would like. Why not make the air ele into a water ele? In a hex build deep freeze and ice prison are ftw imo.

Wouldn't a Water Ele be better in just about every situation for flag running?

Go with a regular warrior. You don't need two running stances to relay the flags.

I'd also run a Water Ele runner.

Can you post the whole team build?

Water Ele flag runner would be nice. Also, you might want to drop a Sword warrior for a Hammer warrior, as the high damage and knockdown is nice. If you want lots of degen, get maybe a Crip Shot R/Me or a Melandru's Arrow's Ranger. The Crip Shot could help out the Flag Runner. Three Mesmers seems a bit too much.
