This is how I see it.
Creat a guild, buy a guild hall...
GvG, get up to the top 100...
Earn some Silver lining and whatknot...
Sell the guild (Earn big money), dump the guild...
Start a new one, repeat process.
Easy money while still benifiting from GvG.
Damn smart

Top 100 is pretty easy these days. Just run fast cast ele spike, bunny thumpers, or dual smite and you will eventually get there.

The True Story of Deer-
I am the original leader of deer. The full-time caller and the person who started the guild and kept it in shape. The guild started the night before the ladder reset, so we did not even have 8 people in the guild before the beginning of the season, that is why we were ineligable. The guild was not exactly meant to be the next top 10 guild.. it was a test of abilities for myself to see how far my leadership skills and build making abilities could take me. I've been creating guilds maybe once every 1-2 months with friends that i play with often and trying different builds. I never intended for [Deer] to be perminent and solid. Throughout the season we picked up very few players, hanging with 7-8 people in the guild and living off of guest monks and flag runners for the majority of the season. About the third week in the guild really started taking shape, and we built up a solid player base and i perfected my calling abilities. At that time we had me, 3 officers (my main players), and then 6-7 members. Towards the end of the season when we hit rank 8 and scored the capes we were still struggling with a player base, since the guild wasnt exactly perminant and there are not alot of good unguilded players. Thats when I made a big mistake. I picked up 4-5 players who obviously cared little about the guild, who hop from guild to guild and joined us because of the silver capes. Although the players were good, dont get me wrong, their attitudes were totally unbearable. The way i lead guilds is basically "do what i say or dont play" and my players went along with that. Very good players when they are given a direction, but left alone they cannot always make decisions... and thats why alot of our players were people nobody has heard of. Starting of the second season.. we are still owning. We have gotten to be basically 1 big unit instead of a bunch of members, and we were rolling teams. I started wising up again, kicking some of the "cape-leechers" and newer players who didnt like the way the guild was run. By middle of the last season we were back down to 1 flag runner, 1 healer, 1 prot, 2 bonders, and 5 spikers in the guild. I get an offer of 50 ectos for the guild(when we were still doing atleast decent) and i laugh it off. Then comes the downhill. The fact that our guild wanted to ignore but still happened is that our heal monk, one of the best healers ive ever played with, was leaving for the army and soon to Iraq in July. He had basically the rest of our second season to play but wanted to get r11 on his account, so he quit gvg and joined iE to get his r12. Also, the other officer moved back to Korea, having a 13 hour time difference from everyone else. One of the kicked members convinced our boon prot that he is such a godly player and that he is almost too good for [Deer], and if he made his own guild it would be godly and they would get top 10 easily. The boon prot left to make his guild(which disbanded in 2-3 days), and we were left with no monks. Myself, being totally frustated losing 2 of the best monks ive ever played with at the same time, started searching for new players. We really couldn't find anyone even close to the level of playing that they were at and we fell inactive for a while. Personally I was just kind of getting sick of ranger spike (if u play 1 build for 2 months with the same players you'll understand what i mean, even if u do win) and i think all of the other members were too. With the guild basically dead, I talked back to the guy who had offered me the 50 ecto for the guild(the guild wasn't doing anything anymore... I had no reason not to sell it) and got him up to 85 ecto. I quickly sold off the 85 ecto in ToA for around 750k(im not good with pve, i like straight cash). I come back to id1 of tombs, feeling lonely without my silver trim, and I see someone spamming that they are selling invites to [Deer] for 10k and i laugh when i see they say officer for 100k. I was really hoping [Deer] could just die off a quick death without much public stuff, but I think the buyer had a different idea. All of the old guild members of [Deer] reformed into a new guild, The Zodiac Alliance[ZAFT], lead by the last remaining officer of mine. They are doing ok and I guest for them sometimes, but I think theres still an empty spot inside of all for the silver capes. I really think that everyone is cool with it though, it was a great experience and the guild got us more then we could have asked for (champion points, the chance at playing and beating top guilds like iGi, EviL, and Te, and of course my sweet 750k). I have a friend who just came back to gw after a long break and another one perfecting his boon prot skills. I also met another amazing monk the other day in tombs when I was holding halls. [ZAFT] also picked up a few good players, so dont be surprised if [Deer] returns in the near future.

Plus that's a nice pyramid scheme : those who buy officer from you may attempt to sell invites for a profit before the guild crashes down, and so on .. Exponential hot potato ..

Eventho I read the long explenation without paragraphs I see why he would sell the guild, but still dont see it worth it. Wow you got 750k when selling a high ranked guild that probably gets to destroy its reputation. And wont hold all its members that MADE the guild.. It isn't the same guild without all its members, so why not just let it die, and form a new one.. *shrugs*
The buyer is even more stupid if you ask me, what will you expect, that all members will listen to you, and you have a grand time, or that people actually buy themselves in? (Ok, that probably happens and is the whole catch, which makes those people even the most stupid people in the whole GW world)
I really dont get it why people sell guilds (not DEER in particular, just any), and even less why people buy guilds. The members are just turned into RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOs, and there is absolutely no 'teamspirit' or whatever. *shakes head*. It's a stupid moneymaking thing that shouldn't be working if everybody could just think normally.

Lets see let it die, get nothing, and be broke.
Sell something that will be worthless to you (soon as your sliver capes expire) and make good money.
Well gee thats a tough choice.

You're missing the point. Once DEER got to the point where it was going to die, it became a pyramid scheme, knowing full well that the guild was never going to be a true guild.
It was just a money making scheme and, for a few people, a reason to have a shiny cape.

The person bought deer to make money. He is a friend of mine(not just a random person) and his full intentions were to be in the guild by himself and sell invites to noobs who think either..
A. They get to play with the actual deer
B. They get silver capes
And for all you fans.. deer vids.. some with vent recorded
http://hosted.filefront.com/KontraEpsilon/1642824
The RnS, PuP match, and the offseason all have vent, and those are probably the best ones. I really wish the Te one had vent.. that was when we just started, all of our monks were having a heart attack and we were surviving 5v3+npcs without any healing, just 4 rangers and orders.

We were the ones who originally bought deer, the cost was 80 ectos, we split the cost among 6 people, each paying 13 ectos, We then sold invites for 10k a piece, untill the guild was maxed out, then sold the guild, we made probably 600k from all that, so i figure it was a good deal on our part.
with the money i earned from Deer i then bought DtwO for 40 ectos, maxed that guild out at 10k an invite then sold the guild for 100k + 10 ectos
in the end i probably made about 800k for DtwO and 600k off of Deer, from my initial investment of 13 ectos .
the whole thing was a money making scheme. we would sell officer positions for 100k and they would be allowed to sell invites for 10k etc
well some kids were angry and decided to pay 100k and then when i was off line, tank the rank from 30 to 350, at this point i could care less, since i already made my money, so i sold the guild for 100k + 1 sigil to some kid , i could care less what happens to deer, the kid i sold it to for 100k + 1 sigil was in my guild about 4-5 months ago (the mighty vorgon) and was the WORST warrior i had ever seen in my life and noone has ever heard of any of those people you listed that used to be in ex top guilds, regardless im happy in the end i made money.
so its kinda funny when random people come here and spew trash

First off I was not in your guild a few months ago, and had never even heard of you before 1 week ago. I am not bad at warrior. The one thing is, I play MONK for many top guilds and am rank 10 and can run any build for any character very good, even got 736K Faction from pure gvg. Also, the only reason we bought Deer was because we were bored, and wanted a challange after getting many guilds to top 100, We happened to have about 3000K to spend, so 100K was nothing. Our goal was to get it back to top 30 by sunday, then 3 officers got pissed off because they were kicked from main gvg team and did gvg when I was offline with some ****** up rs build, and lowered the rank even more. Comming online to see that I kicked those 3 Kids from the guild and got a few from another top 50 guild I was in to join.
Those people listed above are NOT in the guild. And I have never even heard of.
We do have people from top guilds who joined because I know them from other top guilds I was in.
Then those people got other people to join.
I do have about 3 accounts {One for all main 3 servers} and this one is not my main, my main is in a top 35 guild right now. I just had the other 2 sitting around with nothing to do with them but farm, which I no longer do.

Good thing my guild has quite a bit of GvG-ers... : )
Wow...it all blew up eh? That's the problem I see with top-high-whatever guilds. There seems to be a lot of pressure and instensity to stay that good in rank. A slip or two in the rank and BOOM gg high-ranked guild.

That is a lie Vorgon. I watched you play. I'm the one who came on, pissed off. You lose to a few guilds, (some in under 4 mins mind you) and you started blaming the members and the build. Not only that, but it was YOUR idea to run that ranger spike, after I told you to drop that idea because we are not Deer. Just because we owned deer, doesn't mean the members are fully capable of running deer's build.
I second the guy who said you were a poor warrior, the pressure you two put on was pathetic. Split up and attack random targets and not even attempt an adren spike? LOLOL, nice pressure. You told us a lot of lies about top players joining and allying with top guilds.
I break the guild up, and you try getting me mad by telling me that 3 members from te, a member of last pride and the leader of war machine joined on alternate accounts? You're so full of it, and always were. I don't even think you were ever in WM like you claimed to be.
Get some leadership skills, and then try being a leader. You throw your players into the fray and expect them all to know what to do and be as good as WM just because you stole WMs build. Meanwhile the only time anything ever got done is when I called a strategy.
Get off your high horse bud. Lose the ego, or you'll never learn anything, and therefore will never improve.
You claim that you won a $5000 prize in WM, and yet you couldn't conjure a few dollars to buy factions? How can you even lead a guild without factions?
What a joke.
Good day.
