I disagree. Not that IWAY = nubway, but that SWIM are 'a sad guild' and that MATH don't trash talk - they do. Also, in my experience, high rank IWAYers, probably as a result of their obsession with fame, generally have realy huge egos and e peen issues, much more than people of high rank who have been running other builds.
Of course there are exceptions. <3 a few r9+ IWAYers.

Please try to UNDERSTAND why some people prefer to play this build and learn to live with it. If you trashtalk at them you are imo no better than all that "noob" IWAY pugs.
And I wouldn't say IWAY is overpowered anymore. A good team shouldn't have any problems against most IWAY groups 1 on 1, and an equal chance against a good iway. If you still lose against iway regularly its because of your own mistakes. So don't hate but rather try to get better.
And to all the ppl only playing IWAY: Try a little more variety, it's fun believe me.

I totally agree whit this post. It's everything I think of this Thread.

I was gone from HA for a long time (since the comming of IWAY) and returned last week, after an invitation of a guild member. We went on a killing spree in HA and we encountered IWAY.
The last thing I knew of IWAY is that it was very powerful, and our build wasnt a specific anti-iway build. So I prepared for a hot-fight.
We had 1 guy dropping out due to a err7 just before combat began. We defeated IWAY...
I dont believe IWAY is overpowered. I do believe its an easy build to play, but like many other easy builds, also stoppable. And it isnt (and wasnt) a HoH winner. IWAY can make some fast fame, due to easy party forming (just a lot of ppl wanna play IWAY) and little coordination is needed. Like the OP, there is more in IWAY... and like Dancing Blade: there is more variety then IWAY
You what is fun? variety on a forum, dont flame IWAY, just crush them ingame...
Of course the OP has a point... but the same holds for 90% of the Wammo's

I'm pretty sure the game creators don't approve of single-class domination builds and would go out of their way to fix imbalances. For example, air-spiking was last summer's overpowered build and that was nerfed.
A large proportion of people play IWAY and Anet had Factions in the back of their mind for a few months which is why the IWAY 'nerf' was so puny. Had an expansion/extension (or whatever you want to call Factions) not been planned, IWAY would have been nerfed of its glory.
Its bad marketing to piss off a lot of your consumers.

*sigh*
Learn to play. If you can't beat IWAY, you have bigger problems than worrying yourself about insights into marketing...

People really need to differentiate between players and builds. [Quit] running iway at their height would win their way to halls, even hold repeatedly with it... while at the same time there are always iway groups that have no clue what they're doing and grabbed the skillbars from a forum post. Neither of these is an intrinsic property of iway, it's a function of the players running it and effort spent.
In terms of the "iway is an uncreative build"... and running 1-2 warriors, 2 mesmers, a warder, another ele, necro, or trapper, and 3 monks is? Give me a break, there are plenty of groups out there that just follow the same mold, don't really give any thought to how they work together, and go.
Plenty of teams trash talk, and a good proportion of them aren't iway.
If you lost to a group, the other team didn't have any less "right to win" because of the build they were running - if something is likely to oppose your build, it's your responsibility to build in a counter for it.
And I agree with those who already stated: the IWAYers posting in this thread have acted much more mature than some of the other participants to this conversation...

MATH = IWAY = FOREVER
Not that I'm backing up our Alliance MATH.
IWAY is a build , Just like any other Build.
Build be a Balance, Degen, Hex Heavy.
Spike be R-Spike, B-Spike, Rainbow Spike.
And MATH play Iway better than any IWAY Guild out there.

While i myself do not like IWAY because of the fame farming it allows and the rank discrimination in my opinion it caused. It was my experience before i quit HA (except with guild), due to IWAY, that IWAYer's were more likely to trash talk than say the balanced build player. I am not saying that balanced build players do not trash talk, but IWAYer's are more likely to. Also as a gerneral statement i believe balanced build players and players that try new builds are better players than the rank 9 IWAYer.
In response to [MATH] unless you guys changed in the last 1 month that i haven't been in HA you guys have definately trash talked! Some of the worst i have ever seen came from you guys i mean have some control over your members. I mean we lost our protect monk in the middle of the battle to a err7 and you guys started trashing us because lost to IWAY. Should've taken screenie, but didnt think of it.
IWAY is a valid build like everything else is even though it needs a much needed nerf. I mean smite got a nerf, air spike got a nerf, and iway got barely anything. I think Iway is easily beatable, but at the same thing overpowered. I mean a air spike if unorganized rarely beat a team, but a disorganized Iway will roll over any other disorganizied team and has a chance of beating an orgnaized team that makes a mistake which is human nature.

Yup they are still there and depending on the time of the day, about 70% still runs it. Although there are quite some factionskills which greatly counter iway, there are some new skills which buffed it as well. (plz don't discuss balanced-iway tactics now, the thread will go offtopic then )

Air Spike got a nerf because it was ridiculous. You could basicly spike three targets at once with a bit of luck. That is something that is overpowered. Smite got a nerf because it was absolutely retarded. A good Dual Smite or Air Spike team back in the day would rock everyones face untill they were beaten by... another Dual Smite or Air Spike.
You admit yourself that IWAY is not overpowered, and only rolls unorganised teams, so why nerf it? A nerf that would effect the rest of the game. If you just want to get rid of it then cry about the Fame system instead, which is what makes it worth running so much to some people.
IWAY is just sad. I'm sorry but people who get consistantly beaten by IWAY are just bad players. As I said before, it is a noob stomping build that works so well because HA is full of noobs just crying to be stomped. If everyone over night learnt to not suck at Guild Wars, IWAY would probably die.

When "I Will Avenge You", Eviscerate and the the Orders were nerfed (in the same update) Anet must have thought there was some sort of imbalance.
Order of the Vampire: no longer triggers if you have other Necromancer Enchantments on you.
Fixed a bug that allowed attack speeds to stack past 33%.
Eviscerate: increased adrenaline cost to 8 swings.
"I will avenge you!": reduced attack speed to 25%; fixed a bug that caused this skill to trigger off of dead ally minions.
Dust Trap: reduced Blindness duration to 3..8 seconds.

It was unbalanced, and very much so as it employed nearly every single broken skill in the game. It is not unbalanced anymore.
No decent team should loose to IWAY anymore, it's just that simple.

Last time I checked, Order of Apostasy doesn't remove wards, blind, cripple, and doesn't prevent kiting.

but it removes guardian, aegis, life sheath, prot spirit, healing seed, channeling ...... etc, which pretty much make ur prot monk useless. that mean u'll always have to have a warder or trapper in ur team.
Overpowered doesnt mean unbeatable, overpower means two team with similar skill level the team with the overpowered build find it easier to win.

wow i cant believe this thread is still alive.
How can iway be overpowered if they basically no way to self heal or hex removal.
One good SS necro can solo an IWAY team.
A balanced should NEVER lose to IWAY.

Not every balanced team has the luxury to carry a SS necro. Not every balanced team wants a character that is a liability against any opposing team/build other than IWAY. Not every balanced team wants to go hex heavy to help make this character less gimped against non-IWAY teams. If your concept of a balanced build is that it must have a SS necro, then your concept of balance is skewed. Balanced means you must have warrior(s), mesmer(s), and monks.
The fact is that even the best teams do not have a 100% percent success rate against IWAY. People get tired and inevitably make mistakes. IWAY builds punish mistakes harshly.
Order of Apostasy is quite insidious, but easy to counter. Quick recognition of its use let you communicate to your team that everyone must have a strong kiting performance. If the orders necro is in range (or you have a warrior that can get in his range), then interrupting the two second cast is quite easy. If the orders necro is not within reasonable range (which a smart orders player will not be), then just kite strong, do not die, and the heavy 25 energy cost will quickly catch up with IWAY team (assuming you can interrupt some of their spirit lays) and make the use very infrequent.
