I have never played a VIM myself, but as far as I know, most vim build i have seen was made of 2 G/R and 6 R/G trapper. Skills needed are ViM, 3 traps, a stance to avoid interruption and spirits such as quichening zephyr, sometimes nature renewal, maybe energising winds?, healing spring. I saw sometimes a M/G in it, and one time I have seen a Mes/monk with fevered dreams. However, most of the vim I have seen were really badly run. Hopes it helps.

Need an evade stance. Not blocks.(wands and such get through blocks, but not evades. pretty sure of this.)

Basic VIM Trapper :
1.Barbed Trap
2.Flame Trap
3.Dust Trap
4.Healing Spring
5.Victory is Mine (VIM for some of you who couldn't figure that out)
6.Whirling Defenses/Dodge (which ever u prefer)
7.Quickening Zyphr/Primal Echoes/Natures Renewal (you only want 1 of nr and pe everyone else take qz)
8.Rez Sig
I personally dont like to take 8 trappers, i prefer 6 trappers 1 w/r or w/e and a mo/w
the monk basically is:
1.Orsion of Healing
2.Dwyna's Kiss
3.Heal Area/Holy Veil/Heal Other
4.Signet of Devotion
5.Heal Party
6.Remove Hex
7.VIM
8.Rez Sig
the monk is there for hex removal/backup healing good support char i highly recommend taking one along
the warrior is mainly for relics and capping....either /r or /e whichever ur party wood rather have..basically if the war is /r take tigers fury, sprint, and primal echoes (so u can take another qz)
if the war is /e take gale, sprint, basically run a normal gale war but with VIM axe or hammer is best
there u go my prefered VIM build, some dont take the monk but it really helps

And how do you conter them, if I might ask ? Especially when running IWAY ?
One option I thought would be Meteor Shower and the other is one character goes and sets off all the traps, possibly with death nova on and the others follow 10 seconds later ? ANy other counters please ?

1) All players pick an opposite number and use arrows on them from range. With orders on, they'll be finished in under 2 minutes.
2) martyr.

Martyr is very good for denying teams the energy that they expect for investing in ViM (as well as helping condition removal in general with traps). Signet of Humility works to a certain extent, too.

The thing with the majority of vim groups is that they have a tendancy to just ball up and go into a shell. This makes it very easy to hold back and frustrate them with bows or aoe.
The best vim groups play agressively and swarm all over you. They spread their conditions everywhere and of course, thats when they get the full benefit of the elite.

Most Popular Vim Build
THE MOST POPULAR VIM BUILD I HAVE SEEN AND THE ONE WHICH SEEMS TO WORK BEST WITH ME IS:
1.VICTORY IS MINE(vim)ELITE
2.WHIRLING DEFENCE
3.BARBED TRAP
4.DUST TRAP
5.FLAME TRAP
6.FROZEN SOIL, NATURES RENEWAL OR QUICKENING ZEPHYR
7.HEALING SPRING ( ESSENTIAL FOR ALTAR MAPS)
8.RESERECTION SIGNET
THE TEAM USUALLY CONSISTS OF 6 TRAPPERS (R/W) 1 VIM WARRIOR(W/R) AND 1 VIM BLACKOUT WARRIOR (W/ME)
AGAINST SPIKERS THE TEAM'S TACTICS SHOULD BE TO RUSH AND TRAP IN THE HARD HITTERS.
AGAINST IWAY THE TEAM SHOULD GET INTO A BALL AND SPAM ALL TRAPS AND HEALING SPRINGS.
