Easier said then done- the spirit is usually placed deep in the backline, which is a dangerous place to go against IWAY.

Also, the OoA necro is usually DEEP in their backline, or even like, edge of radar range back.

simple solution kill the necro, normally iway is too stupid to kill the guy overextending, and the necros drop like flies.

That is the same thing as saying "Oh just kill the monk!" Sounds easy, but can be harder than it looks.

Chasing the Necro in circles half a radar away from your team while they have six warriors ravaging your face is a great way to lose against iWay.
Just saying.
Peace,

OoA has completely nerfed IWAY....<waits for the rage posts and rage pms I will be recieving in game>. OoA makes IWAY extremely more aggressive, but comes at the cost of the main healing spell for the warriors, Orders of the Vampire. In my opinion (having monked on a team that has beaten MATH and other IWAY on numerious occaisions in GvG and HoH), the target should no longer be the necros, but rather the W/R. Putting your warriors on their warriors will significantly hamper their offense, prevent overextension, and quickly they will crumble under the weak healing of the necros. Btw, the two times we beat MATH this season in GvG...we won very easily by giving all of their warriors 60 dp.
<shudders in preperation to the rage responses>

It depends on the situation. In GvG I would tend to agree with you, but most Tombs matches are about defending a single non-kiting NPC through protective enchantments. Having OoA to strip away every one of those enchantments is definitely not a nerf in the context of the HoH.
Also, does MATH even still run IWAY? Last time we faced them in GvG they were running balanced, and from what I hear they've been trying to give IWAY up. I know Cute was running IWAY last season, but if MATH switched back it's news to me.

you never targeted the necros... You always killed the offense of iway, because you just can't afford to chase the necros...

yes and no.
you have to target the warriors and/or rangers to kill something. but it is not as easy as you make it sound.
they got a good defense: the ritualist spirits really hurt your damage output and you can't afford to kill the ritualist, so you need to power through the spirits. and you need good snares to stop the warriors from running away.
if you can snare them and keep constant high pressure, you score kills and that is the way to go.
but it isn't exactly easy or a free win. You need enough offense to power through the spirits and snares to hold the warriors in place while maintaining enough wards to keep your team alive.
you can't rely your defense on enchantments, which really hurts - though you can always build non enchantment based defenses... it just limits your possibilities...
but if you fail to bring either wards, snares or enough offense to keep high pressure on a high armor target, you have really bad cards against iway...
the healing from OoV was lost way a long time ago and it really doesn't matter because there are enough heal parties floating around and a warrior who is targeted runs anyway, so the healing OoV provided was only used to fill the health bar faster when not targeted...

From what I gathered they stopped running IWAY in GVG, and opted to run balanced, and apparently not too effectively.
They still run IWAY in HA, and it's a pain in the ass to face, which is obviously going to be the case since they've had no lack of practice running it

Considering they have only just switched to running balanced, this is only to be expected. However, considering they are a strong and active PvP guild you should almost certianly seem them improving with time.

I know, I just expected them to have improved having played over 100 games on the ladder being active pvp players and all.

Count on it. I like AoE, it's a shame that it had to ruin gvg (triple smite is still quite beatable, but considering how the ladder looked this season, it's pretty much overkill)
Also, everyone stop complaining about OoA, it already has to have a spirit to make it effective, it's not as bad as people try to make it sound.

Order of Apostasy is scary for blowing up Ghostlies in the HoH. It's really not that bad otherwise. I think people are mostly pissed that iWay has game in hall besides edge bomb now.
Peace,
