I find that an anticipated prot spirit followed by RC usually helps kill a spike that relies on deep wound (adren spike/rainbow using pp-sd).

But I agree that against a spike that doesnt rely on deep wound I'm sure that Rof is a lot more effective than RC.

Reversal can reverse the damage and heal one of the spike skills if they have not landed yet or one of the afterspike skills about to land buying you more time to cast another spell on your ally (such as restore condition or prot spirit). Afterspike skills typically are not impacted by prot spirit [much], because their damage is considerably less than the spike skill. Prot spirit helps much more as a pre-prot prior to the spike skills landing provided you have correctly identified the spike target.

For pre-protting, it helps to know who on your team is most likely to be the target. Nub spike teams try to spike monks first. More intelligent spike teams try to spike the players on your team that are giving them the most problems executing their spike, so that once they drop that player they have a good shot to drop others (assuming they can time frozen soil well).

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it yet (too lazy to read sometimes ), but any type of shut down you have in your build can stop a spike, kiting is going to stop a lot of adrenaline spikes. Just move into a nice ward against melee and suddenly your monks have all the time in the world to heal you. Just being aware of the playing field gives you an advantage over a lot of teams. Anyway, the point is, stoping an adrenaline spike isn't just the role of the monks, but when you can't avoid one, definately don't just blame the infuser if you die.

Infusing for half a year, I will still say it is a very hard job. All the advice people gave is pretty good. I would say most of my early mess ups before I got much better was purely due to nervousness. Remember of course to keep track of where the enemy warrior is and think about what priority target they might spike. I would say you shouldn't try playing infuser if you are tired or stressed, and if your teammates are yelling at you on vent to infuse, I usually mute them and perform fine. Some good music in the background for infusing helps the atmosphere too. But ya as infuser if they are spiking every few seconds just keep your finger on the keyboard ready to infuse and pay attention to this and let the word of healing or other healer do more of the small heals. When you are relaxed you will not miss an infuse with enough practice. The only thinking you need to do is about where the next target might be, dont think about damage and what the other monks are doing, just infuse as a reflex when you see target drop below 50% health very quickly. I usually have some water and crackers near me so can stay refreshed as well.

/agree
For all of you who haven't infused b4 and you yell "WATCH 2! ON 4!", STFU and kill the spikers.

Also, if you are playing with someone who you know can infuse, and they tell you they are lagging, believe them, of they will quit playing with you.
