I just started getting into Player versus Player and I was hooked from the first couple of battles. I've been testing my own ideas out for my Warrior/Elementalist (Air) and I've bene doing better. (but still losing to the more experinces players) and I've now come to the forums for help.

My weapon of choice is a Shocking Sword of Enchanting and I really don't want to switch to a Hammer or axe build so I was wondering if any of you could give a try as to make an effective Warrior/Elementalist (Air) build for my character?

This is what I normally use:

Air Magic: 12
Strength: 8
Tactics: 7
Swordsmanship: 9

Skills:
1) Glyph of Concentration - (No Attribute)

2) Conjure Lightning - (Air Magic)

3) Berserkers Stance - (Strength)

4) Deadly Riposite - (Tactics)

5) Lightning Strike - (Air Magic)

6) Savage Slash - (Swordsmanship)

7) Healing Signet - (Tactics)

8) Shield Stance - (Tactics)

Comments:
Since I haven't been doing this for long I can't tell what I should/shouldn't be using, what kinks or tweaks can be made or what I'm better of with/without.

im not gonna talk alot about this shit, probably someone else will talk more/better about it later.

but a few suggestions:
a warrior has it biggest strenghts in adrenalin attacks, and u dont have any of them. u also should get a way of running after ur enemies faster than them if they run so get a speed boost (NOT windborn, get sprint/rush)
only ele skill worth running tbh is shock, which give a nice knockdown, and u dont need much in air to use it
so get in some nice attack moves, (sever artery, gash, final trust, dragon slash)
maybe a nice knockdown (shock) something that will kill the runners (bulls strike, sprint) and maybe some self heal)
and remember, get as much into sword as possible, because the sword deals more dmg if u have alot of stuff in sword

hey, the guy's new to PvP. go a little easy on him.

now: you're a sword warrior, so use your sword skills. stock up on something like Pure Strike or Jaizhanju Strike, Galrath Slash, etc. drop points in Air and load up on Swordsmanship. lightning strike may be good for hitting targets that are down to 5% of their HP, but otherwise it won't help much. take that out and bring Shock. berserker stance isn't optimal because of it's long recharge and short duration, so drop that. look into something else that increases your attack speed, or just replace it with another utility skill.

there's other improvements to be made, but i'm done here.

this is dmn good:

1 Conjure Lightning
2 Hundred Blades
3 Sun and Moon Slash
4 Galrath Slash
5 Final Thrust
5 Ress Signet
6 Shock
7 Rush
8 Frenzy

Attributes:

12 or 13 swordsmanship
9 or 10 strentgh
and all whats left into air (about 10)

The key to succes in this build is:
Conjure Lightning with Hundred Blades and Sun and Moon Slash gives a high damage boost.. because u hit twice so Conjure Lightning also hits twice per skill...

Most ppl like shock.. i actually dont so u could replace shock for bulls strike

And keep in mind:
- this is not a TACTICS warrior so your objective is not to tank
- adjustments can be made.. this is just my opinion

with 16 in swordsmanship, generally always 16 in weapon mastery.
You don't need more than 9 in Air-Magic if you want to make use of an offhand air-magic item. Generally you wouldn't need any point there anyway.

This is almost the same Sword build I run, but I have Rush instead of Sprint and Quivering instead of Dragon.

As for new PvPers, bring Res Sig. Unless you're a Monk or a Mesmer in GvG, bring Res Sig.

Yokuni (Maatu Keep)
Michiko (Kaineng Center)

I don't mean to be rude or anything, but personally I think that the original build you were using, to put it in a nice way, isn't very nice. What General Surena suggested was wayy better, but imo, futher improvements can be made IF YOU'RE GOING TO DO TEAM ARENAS.( Just suggesting since you just mentioned that you enjoy PvP as a whole ).

If say, you could have a little snare support on your team, switch out Sun and Moon Slash for Standing Slash. It's a +21 out of stance, +42 damage in stance, and can help make the deep wound spike from sever+gash a little more scary

Check observer mode, TA spam and HA spam to get a general idea of what people are looking for in terms of Warriors. Pay more attention to ObsMode as there are more diverse builds.

A Warrior's main job is to kill. His best way to do that is with 16 Weapon Attribute, Frenzy, Rush/Sprint and attack skills.
