Expansion Sets - Rip off every 6 months to keep playing PvP?
I know we play Guild Wars *for free* so I shouldn't really be complaining....
I think Guild Wars is planning on releasing a new chapter every 6 months, meaning 2 new Professions every 6 months. I think it is a horrible idea.
They are basically making $100 a year off every player. So, I'd rather see them charge like $10 a month, and not make shitty expansions.
In "Prophecies," they added a lot of new stuff. It was fun for a while. Here they are already coming out with an expansion, when I think Faction's doesn't look complete, at all. I just feel they could have done A LOT more with Factions, and I got jipped.
I feel like I'm being ripped off, spending $50-$70 every 6 months to keep playing PvP. (Honestly I have no desire to play the Nightfall professions.) What if you don't have all the expansions, a Guild might not take you in because you aren't unlocked and don't have the ability to play these builds. ANET has to make there money somehow, but I just feel that if they add new professions and skills to every profession every 6 months, the game is going to become so deluded that it won't even be fun anymore to do PvP. It's like having a gallon of water, and only a pinch of Kool Aid mix.
I'm just worried that ANET might be ruining the entire PvP system, which I love and I don't want to see it go further down the gutter. All people do is complain about what skills need nerfs, and what builds are unfair, etc.
If you know any information about what they are working on, expansion/Factions wise, or anything else, please feel free to fill us all in. It would be greatly appreciated.
Thoughts please?

I think the misunderstading of "shitty expansions" is when the game has been out for a year a bit and people still calling it an EXPANSION, when it's cleary a STAND ALONE GAME. Don't wanna be blunt but if you wanna PVP so bad buy the game, if not carry on with chapter 1-2 skills. Seeing that with Chapter 2 if your not assassin primary most of your secondary skills weren't even from chapter 2 but from 1. Might be the same way with Chapter 3 to Chapter 2 lacking Chapter 1 skills.

I meant the "Expansions to come." I don't want them to be shitty.

That would be your fault, if you don't want to keep up with the trends of GW no one to blame but yourself.

That was a hypocritical statement. Your complaining about people who complain about builds, etc , but you are complaining also about those people and your complaining about quality of the expansions. This post was one big complain...
If you think the expansions are shit then don't play. Anet wants to keep the game fresh by adding new stuff on a regular time basis. Getting the devoted players into a routine of getting to know the expansion then taking it a step up with another one and so forth....not their fault you can't keep up.

^^ That is everytime you used a first person pronoun. So this is obviosuly YOUR belief. Nobody cares, especially Anet. The thoughts of one person nothing but a head turner to them, now lets say its about .... 100,000 people of the 2 million people + that play GW then that would matter, but your are just insignificant, and quite frankly you wasted your time posting that and I wasted my time posting this, why did I do it then, sitting at home unable to play GW and bored out of my mofoing mind thats why. Any other crap for me to flame. GG

I'm pretty sure it's not beloved. You should see the number of posts in the HA forums about 'rank discrimination' and other bellyaching. I don't even like it, because rank does not equal skill.
p.s. let's not turn this into a rank rant so it doesn't get locked.
meanwhile, what he says is accurate. spend 100 bucks a year or no pvp for you.

Umm, if they are charging 10 Dollars a month they are making 120$ of you a year, you would rather do that AND deal with CC Issues than wait a month for the epansion price to lower?
Also expansions gives you something to look forward to, look at WoW they have a montly fee AND they expansions yet they have 50,000,000 people online ( NO JOKE ). Though I am kind of looking forward to see how the Expansion effects the game.
And as for our "beloved PvP system" A Net partially took care of that issue by adding a handful of duplicate skills, if you are a die hard PvP person...then I guess you will end up buying the epansion, but for now, I see plenty of prophecies people do just fine without Factions.
A Net is probably looking into that though, the stand alone game thing is a cool idea, BUT come Ch. 4 and 5 provided they get that far, I can see the PvP thing becoming an issue.

No need to create another boring rant thread about this, especially an off-topic one here. This subforum is for HA. Closed.
