A w/rt with consume soul and team pressure on ranger gives nr tranq alot of trouble. Decently easy solution.

No. This month's flavor is Practiced Stance Choking Gas. Now, why would anyone want a combo that in 2 skills, shuts down a healer?

shuts down any caster, really. except for...boon prot, probably, unless you're uber good and can catch rof.
of course, with nr and tranq up he'd be screwed anyway.
NR/Tranq is the new balanced.

i also find it a bit weak vs bspike. at least ive noticed most of them (probably newbies, but we werent that hot either) have close to no success vs a blood spike group (the only thing is, they annoy me coz boon of creation expires faster oO)
and stop with the bitching crap plz.. some of you cant post in a thread without getting in a fight or whining about something..

a good nr tranq can roll blood spike. blood spike can't hold,, so they have to spike. you have everyone interrupt the spike (psychic distraction e/me is one of the things that CC runs, for example). Spike is infused with one button. rinse, repeat. B spike will usually resign after a couple deaths and 10-15 minutes of fruitless spiking.

blood spike can't, or at least has difficulty, holding with nr and tranq up while facing two teams.
sorry, should've clarified.

A good blood spike can roll most nr tranq teams. Especially ones like CC where you realistically only have to not stand in aoes and infuse their spikes.
PS: Shard, I don't believe choking gas rangers are broken or overpowered. They are useful as shutdown yes, but not so much that they are far and away always better than every similar alternative.

Catching things like RoF/Orison aren't that difficult. You just have to figure out when the monk uses the skills, what order they cast them in, etc, and just fire off random Savages/Distractings. It gets fun when you start distracting Eviscerate, then savage shotting Executioners Strike Against warriors for example, all you have to do is figure out how long it takes for them to build adrenaline, watch their skills, and interupt. Same thing for monks. Watch how the monk plays and you should be able to catch some good skills.

I always wind up being too far out of range to catch rof in time.

seriously, its a good build vs melee based builds, which are like 90% (estimate ok?) of HA.
|
wtf. you are the sort of player i hate. YOU are worse than those IWAY or eoebomb players just simply because you have no brains to do anything other than whine.
Its not a case of nerfing the freaking build, if you cant deal with it, then do something and think of a way to counter the build without comprimising your other outputs too much.
and no, not 90% of builds are melee based. you must be one of those people who live in the IWAY box and believe only IWAY exists. and if that was an estimate, that wont cushion your fall either because that was a horrible shot-in-the-dark estimate.
DEAL WITH IT.

First of all, choking gas rangers are all kinds of fun to play and quite effective. Their downside is they have to be standing in one spot to do their job. make them kite and you've all but shut down the cg ranger. So no they aren't overpowered. And second, can there be a thread on this forum that doesn't turn into a flaming of everyone's favorite all-american pressure build? Please just quit mentioning it unless it is constructive to the conversation.

CG + Practiced stance doesn't shut down a healer. Without his "real" interrupts, he shouldn't be able to get 1s casts. It's not hard to time your spells just after an arrow hits...
The real reason for running these rangers is Seeking arrows + Practiced Stance + Savage Shot in HoH

After reading this I decided I'd play around with Practiced Stance builds, but Xennon.co.uk claims that Practiced Stance is located in Mineral Springs (Prophecies). Isn't Practiced stance a Factions skill though? It can't be in a Prophecies area.

Its always been in prophecies. It just wasn't used for a while because it was considered trash before anet buffed it.
