Rt/Me Chained Spirit Spike
IGN: The Spirit Chainer
Hi, so i haven't seen this in use yet, so i thought i would hope to share this with you all as it doesnt hurt ^^ well, other then the person its attacking.
heres a clip of what this build can do, i know its on a dummy, but it doesnt matter who its on, the damage wipes through armour.
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v6... nch=imgAnch1
So, the build is for random or team arenas, and it can knock off just over 100 per second, and it took down a warrior, who was fully enchanted with a monk, in under 7 seconds.
The build used is:
Boon Of Creation - energy management
Mantra of Resolve - so nothing can go wrong ^^
Pain
Blood song
Wanderlust {E} - to knock down those blinded warriors and people running from this builds spirits
Shadow song - because of its ability to blind warriors and assassins so you can stand there laughing watching the points get knocked off.
Painful Bond - This is what does the damage, every time one of those spirits hits someone, even the shadow song, it deals damage
rez signet - Because people still can die ^^
So, stand at the back of the group, dont go rushing in, get prepared, summon each spirit as shown in order of above, however, if a warrior comes chasing your way, stick up shadowsong ASAP with wanderlust.
once every spirit has been put up, find out which person the spirits are attacking, if hes almost dead, dont cast painful bond, wait for the next victim, and cast it.
then you sit back, relax, and wait until you have to re summon something, making sure you keep the rest of your team back so the damage can be dealt. ^^
Armour: Full Shamans With Communing Head Wrap
Weapon: 20/20 required and i use insightful commune staff of fortitude
Runes: Major spawning, Major Channeling, Superior Communing, major/superior vigor
Attributes: Your final attributes should be:
Inspiration: 4
Communing: 16
Channeling: 7
Spawning: 13
i would love to hear any criticism or remarks or changes you would make, such as earth bind to keep someone down for 3 seconds ^^ or disenchantment to disenchant people, i didnt go for the 25 energy cost spells, as it cost too much ^^

I've seen this type of build on multiple occassions and never lost to it. The painful bond hex is easily removed and any team with good tactics knows when to back up and try to pick off spirits from range so they don't get hammered. A ranger with a longbow and a slight height advantage can easily pick off all of these spirits without getting attacked by them.
However, I will say that any unprepared team (i.e. those that like to rush at you) get completely annihiliated by this set of spirits.

An offensive Rit will almost never beat a coordinated, prepared team. In RA you'll probably decimate plety of wammos and assassins, but plenty of TA teams will have you begging for mercy. Building around a specific hex or enchantment is a dangerous proposition in arenas. There's a reason that there is a grand total of one Rit build used in GVG and that's because Rits are at their best supporting the team, and not dealing damage. I can't remember the last time I lost to a Rit with Wanderlust in TA.

yeah, this is more for randoms as i said, the people rushin in and just getting annhilated. i have used it in teams though, after randoms we got to 16 wins total. its the old, attack the monk first, thing which throws them off me.

i can add an extra tip for your spirits
never spawn them at the same point!!!
mesmer really love to make chaos storm on spirits position casue they cant move
better to lose 1 spirit than to lose them all...

Not really. Offensive spirit Rt build can work decently in TA too, i've played before my build and got gladiator points there as well. However, it is a lot of more tricky in TA of course, and im not going to say it's the best build there, but it works better than most people think. If you have the right team that is.
You can check the build i used a month ago (of course things change with time):

..but to mention it once again, i admit it's much better in RA because of undisciplined teams there.

No it's not. Just have someone else with hexes as well, mesmer or necro. Even if they get removed slowly, Painful Bond will go unnnoticed for a bit longer. And you dont need PBond for full duration, even just few seconds of having it on someone increases dmg insanely.

Shadowsong does the same damage as Pain or Bloodsong, so it's a must-have for a painful bond-build.
I've only tried this kind of build twice in PvP, and been disapointed by how easily I was shut down (savage shot on my rituals, or getting my spirits whacked by a warrior). But maybe I should give it another try some day.

I suggest you read my Flying Fortress guide to see how to avoid both of these. It wont work in 100% cases of course, but shutdown will become an exception not a rule You dont even need anti-interrupt mantra if you learn how to position yourself and what's the cast order of spirits. This is by no way easy, mind you, as it may like at first glance.
