I'm happy enough with the lock for now. The faction farming is good against all these henchway and other sucky builds and I still need a little faction to totally UAX factions. I'm also having fun playing roles I dont usually play (I even got to play monk last night which was the first time in 10 months competitively), as a team we can work out split strategies and stuff with our new build and make our mistakes, as well as train up our strat caller to the right levels without too much stress.

I think that as long as you, as a team, take it seriously, then its a valuable opportunity to really push the limits of your team and learn something without the pressure of rank forcing you into crappy farming builds where you will deteriorate as a player.

The unlocking of the ladder has been announced on September 14th at 10 AM PDT. Why do they always give the ladder unlock time to fall under European prime time? Not once have I ever seen the ladder unlock during American or Asia prime time.

So there should be a skill balance coming up sometime in the next couple days, right?

Well, they still haven't rolled out the skill balances. Hopefully we'll see some changes in competitive play along with them.

To be fair, the last three competitive seasons, and the silly weekend farmfest thingy have opened at 9AM GMT, hardly European prime team

Preferable to a 4-week ladder lock.

Granted I'd rather they just did a 2-month fun season instead of splitting them up, but too late now.

zOMG!! Grand prize of 40k faction for winning a season!! I neeeeeeeeed that soooooooo badly!

For real though, the single elimination playoffs will make this a rather intense fun season, as it will become less about stability of guilds, players, and builds, and more about who can just whip out something to wtfpwn their opponents in a single game. Also, the playoffs take place on one day which should be an amazing one. It's just going to be good to play again.

i can't wait for the season to start. my guild's been practicing all ladder-lock, and we want to see how we rank up now.

we finished at 340 the last season due to an amazing string of wins in the last two week. our original goal was to break the top 500, but we did so much better. i think the goal for us now is to push into the top 200 this season. who knows, we might even break the top 100 if we are (very, very, very.....) lucky.
