Ouch what kind of crazy build was that!
So my guild was being casual and were running a new balanced build. We got paired with a 200ish guild right after I pushed enter.
Anyways our guild decides to fight them anyway even thou were probably out of our league. So go up and see a bunch of Me/E. The first thought was of course Fast Cast Air spike and we decide to keep our distance and try to firgure out a plan to attack them. However I saw them us fire attunement and I thought that was weird.
So we rush in and try and take em but then our monks and everyone around them get hit with meteor and fireball then they follow up with flare spamming it killing half of our party right away within a second. My first thoughts were WOOOA, WTF and NERF!!! Those of us left tried to run but were unsuccessful.
We then split up and half of us try to kill their lord and got pretty close but they were faster at killing us.
Has anyone been attacked by this crazy build and do you think its a tad overpowered? I thought it was kind of noobish of us to stay together but still kind of fast killing for half a second.

Sounds like you ran into a Flareway. It's a fun build and can get some quick kills on bunched up opponents, but hardly nerfable.
Strip their enchantments. Hit them with shutdown skills like Diversion. Interrupt their nastier AoEs with Cry of Frustration. Then kill them because they're a team made up entirely of squishy casters, without even Blinding Flashes to help out in the defense.
It's a similar concept to IWAY in that it tries to crush your team with pressure before you can react. If you see what they're doing in advance and start shutting them down and pressuring them, they'll tend to drop pretty quickly.

I remember that video. "Kill that maelstorm spamming bitch!"
But flareway is just a fast build that isn't defensive just overloads on offense to get you worrying about staying alive instead of shutting down the opponents and killing them.

that's an old school build. I would think anyone running it would only be doing it for a bit of a laugh
I blame Rifts for making this builds popular again ;-)

You faced [PuP] running fast cast air spike...
I think it is 5 Me/E, 2 Boon, 1 E/Mo Runner/Supportheal

I don't even think it "overloads" in offense. Well, it doesn't overload my defense last time I faced it.
Anyways, H E B R E W, I didn't know a Fast-Cast air spiker would bring Flare, Fireball and Meteor.

I've run it and gotten to halls with a slight variation of it. It works very well because most HA teams tend to stick close together at the start of the match. Just throw in frozen soil right at the start of the match and most teams will die quite fast.
