I don't have all the details layed out yet but for right now i would like to see which guilds want to participate. THIS IS OPEN TO ANY GUILD crappy or not!!! please post your guild name and a contact address. If we get enough teams involved im thinkin of getting some good prizes.(thinking cold hard cash)

It's a cool idea, I would sign up but I think my guild TA team needs to gel a bit first. We usually run pretty standard builds, so we would probably be easy pickings for the top TA guilds. But still maybe in a couple weeks we will be ready to take on anyone. I guess it all depends on when the tourney would be held.

It probably won't be for at least a week. Maybe two weekends from now so the up and coming ta guilds can get some practice in.

I'll tenatively say that [eat] will put at least 2 teams in the tourney, unless only 1 is allowed. We'll be down for sure though

What is the status of this? Seems like every weekend there's some new event. Would probably be best to hold it on a weekend without a special event running.
That is, assuming that there's still interest in it.

How exactly do you plan on organising and refereeing the matches?

I'm guessing that he's going to be using skirmishes or something, as that's the only plausible way that I could think of. As fo refereeing, ou could easily have one person (or more) per team that just sacs themselves at the beginning and watches the match.
Of course, I'm just assuming all of this, I don't actually know, and with deleted, who does :P

After talking to deleted about it, it'd be easier to call this a "4v4 tournament" than a TA tournament. It will take place in Guild skirmishes, with no NPC's in play (if necessary, the referees will kill opposing NPCs in the way before the match starts.)
It seems he may have given up on it though, as nothing seems to be happening with it *shrug*

but HA! im back, sorry not been active on forums since last weekend was crazy, too many new skills to read. But yes, I do want to make this 4 v 4 work. My Guild [TA] Will host all the scrimmage matches since our guild hall(Imperial Isle) is the best for something like this. There will be two extra members on each team to kill the opposing Henchmen, and also to serve as referees. It's not hard and I don't think I really have to make many rules, but I do need a list of guilds or teams that want to be involved so if you want to sign up.
The guilds or groups i have now are: [TA],[Eat],[XoO]

Imperial Isle is really an optimal choice for this, because the large center region is like a football field. I think this offers plenty of room to kite (unlike the center region of Warrior's Isle) which basically all TA maps have. I think you would probably want to require that the teams not make use of the teleporters nor the acid trap regions (no TA map has acid traps AFAIK).
However, the Imperial Isle is also very flat and offers very few areas to cause obstructions which would certainly offer rangers an advantage. This would mean that teams should be allowed to go up to the area near the teleporter (but not actually through the teleporter) to allow players the opportunity for opposing rangers to be obstructed.
Another good choice for a TA style 4v4 guild scrimmage tournament would be the Frozen Isle in the area around the flagstand. No dispatching of NPCs would be required.
I hope we can get 8+ teams participating to really make this a fun event. With 8, each team could play each other and the 2 teams with the best W/L records could face off in a best of 3. With 16 or more, brackets would likely be required.

Frozen isle would be a good idea. We scrimmaged Vis there and it worked out all right. Ya I won't know how to set up the brackets until i get enough teams involved. Yes, Imperial would give rangers an advantage but I dont forsee it having any negative outcome on the tourney.

I believe that XoO still uses Frozen Isle as their guild hall, so maybe we could have the tourney hosted there. Here's hoping we get more teams signing up...

I am guildless at the moment, but if anybody is looking for an extra player I would be more than obliged to join up with them. PM me with what you'd like ran, and I'll be there in a second.
