Making Healing Sig's penalty scale with attribute - overpowered?
Hello there,
the skill "Healing Signet" grants -40 armour while using it and thus kinda destroys the warrior's advantage of having high armour. In any situation where you are under pressure you really experience the penalty and you're not seldom just killing yourself with it, most often having less armour than any caster (Hammer Warrior with Gladiator's Armour vs. elemental damage).
I believe "Healing Sig" should scale with the investment into "strength" (yes, I propose the change to strength - it's what I consider a domain of the warrior's might rather than a tactic - plus it would prevent "abuse" by non-primary warriors) so that at Strength 10 it should halfen the penalty to -20 for a first step.
Would that be overpowered? What is your stance towards the penalty and the heavy armour loss? Please don't consider non-primary self-healing possibilities. I am posting this here and NOT in the warrior's forum or Sardelac because it's directed to the experienced PvP-Community, and what they fear or expect from such a change and its effects on the PvP-metagames.
regards

So you're saying that, warriors, with their high AL,high DPS, should be allowed to heal with little/no penalty and steamroll over everything?

Healing Sig is about right at the moment
At 11 or 12 tactics it delivers a power heal of well over 100 points, that would cost a monk 10 energy, so it relieves ALOT of pressure on monks in 8v8 or even split AND it allows warriors a degree of independence from their backlines allowing them to overextend. The armour penalty, as long as you are using the skill correctly, is about right.
I think that new warriors possibly use this skill under pressure on low health, which with the armour penalty is usually fatal, whereas really, imo, it is for use as a top up. You will see top warriors spamming it ALOT, even on relatively high health (70-80% plus)

Do you consider less armour than any caster (40 to 60) a reasonable penalty for having 20 more in base armour (80 to 60)? I haven't suggested a total removal but a scaling with the attribute. -20AL at 10 "strength sounds reasonable for me. Warrior's need more support than any other class, they're the easiest to shut down. I am not talking about a 1 vs 1 situation. Yes, I play warrior a lot, I know how strong they are. Without hate, casters are very dead meat, given you're not tanking.

Why are you trying to fix something that isn't broken?

There wasn't any mentioning of "broken", in fact I didn't even state "Plz Anet, fix teh heal sig, it's teh terrible when I solo teh flashbotz" (That's why it's not in Sardelac, remember?) Why should I like everything given in this game and why should everything be ok just because the general notion doesn't consider it broken? Thumpers were "fixed" for a reason even though most people believed they were fine as they used to be. 24/7 in a stance and happily spamming IB.
I guess when mighty JR- enters a thread, the case is automatically closed [Edit: a natural law]
thanks for the comments

Huh?Why is it a problem that you have -40 armor while using heal siget?you dont use it while you are getting attacked. If you do, then you are using it the wrong way imo. Also, making healing signets armor reducement depending on strength but the heal depends on tactics?strange

Ok;
Why are you trying to make a skill stronger, when it is already perfectly viable?
There is no need to change the armor reduction; there is no balance issue to be solved with Healing Signet. It is apparently just an illogical pet hate of yours, that you want to be changed.
Not a reason to start a thread.
