Dual Smite
Dual smite, personally one of my favorite builds, easy to stay alive, easy to roll the other team. But, what i'm wondering is, why does nobody run it anymore? I know the minimum cost for a spell is 1 NRG now, but seriously, is that really a nerf? My guild was somewhat famous for dual smite before the "Nerf", We could get to halls with no skips half the time we went in. I just want to know why it seems to be a dying build.

Maybe one of the reasons, but i dont even think people were running NR/Tranq yet when dual smite started to die out.

Nr/tranq.
Been seeing loads of hex builds.
Heavy interupts.
OoA > Zealots fire.
Increase in mesmers.
Guilds like [fly] still pull it off.

Heavy interrupts really won't do that much for a team vs dual smite.........But yes, OoA>Zealots.

ACtually heavy interrupts really does make dual smite suck. Have a PD on a smiter and you lose a lot of your damage.

Because all the HA players tried it in gvg and guess what? it's so broken that it works in gvg. They stopped HAing.

Interupt zealots, interupt balthz aura.
Smiters dont do damage anymore.
Btw shard i think people are getting tired of u saying that everything in HA is broken. If you really think so, plz give a reason why and dont just say "its broken cuz it works in GvG."

Dual smite is very easy to kill now with spikes and the noobish iway/vimway. If dual smite goes against a b spike it has the potential to get owned unless the players with the dual smite are experienced. The b spike will just spike the smite monks or other monks which will then lead to the death of the warriors and eventually the whole team. With the increasing amount of ppl doing b spike its hard to get a dual smite team with a clue of what to do against spikes and other tough builds.

Yeah that's the true reason for ppl not running dual smite, they're all players with no skill and who can't play a real build and get rolled by most of the teams.
And @ OP, famous for dual smite=like famous for iway

Yeah, half the pug dual smites are stupid, and you got constant frenzied shock axes and stuff, but my guild knew what it was doing we wouldn't get rolled by bspike or ogspike any day :P

iA has been running a single smite with great success lately. Now granted, their player level / communication I'm sure is Top-notch, but they pull it off. Since Ive been playing GW, iA is THE guild to model your playing off of - not build, but playing.
My guild and I always have great success running a smite variation. Too bad most are burnt on Tombs. I miss my HA fix.

Um, what? NR/Tranq was meta-gamed in HA because of all the smite.

My guild ran our smite build (not dual smite) yesterday with a good bit of sucess, so smiting is definately still viable.

Balthazar's aura is still good IMO.
ZF nerf matters in GvG where enchant removal is everywhere. In HA, enchant removal is basically Well of Profane and Order of Apostasy, so the nerf doesn't hurt nearly as much...

yeah, half the time I call for a drain on a smiter, but the pug monks bring inspired hex for some reason (when was the last time anyone saw a heavy hex build on a consistent basis?)

The recent nerf has just turned me off it. I prefer running balance builds I make now. But when I run pug dual smite i never see NR/tranq as a problem - my teammates just need to have their heads with them.

Dual and even triple smite in GvG is laughable because people generally have better kiting techniques and builds feature more shutdown. A lot of builds still work all over, but have simply grown stale. Sure, you could still win with ranger spike, but it's the most incredibly boring build out there. The same is true with SB/RI or dual smite. I think people have just gotten weary of it.

i find dual smite easy to beat, a good heal seed can take care of balths.
theres an insane amount of CG's around right now, good interrupters predict 1/4 second casts and interrupt, or get lucky.theyll take care of smiters, i also think its been around long enough without significant mods for people to learn how to baet it. they just say, ah its dual smite you know what to do.
