QFT im pretty sure our alliance will never touch the game again if they make HA 6v6, and that would b losing some of the best halls players.

I don't see the phrases "Change is good," and "Change is bad," as actual arguments. If you're trying to convince us why 6v6 HA would be bad, use an actual argument please.

If you played TA you'd know that the competition got much more impressive when titles came in. If it had a heirarchy like HA does it would be awesome
I think 6v6 HA would be a great permanent addition to GW

I agree with everything in this post. People that say TA is a joke don't play in TA to realize the skill level. Are there crappy teams? Of course, but IMO some crappy TA build with a wammo = henchway. What's the difference? HA only is serious pvp IMO when it's actually for HoH.
6v6 HA would be great IMO, I'd love it much more than 8v8.

LOL? No big loss out with the old in with.. whatever.
I like the idea. 6v6 makes for faster matches, and faster team creation. Shakes up the current HA metagame, and will probably see an end to bspike and the other fame farm builds, though I'll be sad to see bspike go (personal attachment). I think a player's skill will be looked at with more scrutiny, because there's way less chance for error on a 6 man team in a tournament like HA. Freeloaders and fame-moochers beware.
6v6 could bring up the same problems, because you can never get rid of FOTM builds. Look at how dynamic the playing style is in GVG, and FOTM builds are still run regularly. The old fame farm builds will be replaced by new ones.
Oh yeah 100% agree with OP.

What else do you want us to write? Every one of us gave some arguments, besides, in case you didnt notice, there is big NO from HA based guilds, the people who play it most often, and are most interested in this issue.

Why would "top" people suddenly stop playing HA if the change is permanent ? What is so bad about 6v6 ?
The only argument I've seen is that guilds have their 8 man roster, and it kinda sucks when 2 people have to leave/bench.
On the other hand, I rarely see guild groups without 1 or 2 pugs/guests. If you're short 1-2 player often, wouldn't 6v6 make it easier ?

There are a LOT of "gimmick" pugs, they probably make up the majority of teams you face in HA from my more recent experience. As for balanced builds, well there really isn't that much variety there either. I conceed there are SOME guilds running succesfull and slightly out of the ordinary builds in HA, but they are definately the minority.

Would you like gvg team size reduced to 6 man?

I don't think GvG is stale enough to merit the change, as such I don't think it would necessarily be an improvement. However, I would be more than willing to try it for one weekend without crying on forums about how Anet has ruined my life, as some people seem to imply.

I remember the extreme faction weekend that did end up becomming permanent so I'd say it's possible this is a test. But that doesn't neccessarliy mean it will pass the test and become permanent

indeed, losing guilds like LuNa, DOGS, SeeK, sOap and Then cant be good for the game.. and i cant say i'd be surprised if we'd also lose Err7 and Milk (though, Milk being a guild full of iway'ers might just become an iway guild).
I Hopeless on the other hand will be very happy with this probably

QFT. I think a lot of you guys need to chill out. Its a 1 weekend thing, not the end of the world. If the majority of HA doesn't like the change, then obviously ANet isn't going to make it a permanent change.... but I suggest at least TRYING 6v6 HA before saying how much its going to suck ass and that your whole alliance is going to quit GW... I mean, you guys heard about that Nintendo Wii thing? I think its going to suck and totally ruin Nintendo's name! I've never played one but I know it will suck! Thats how a lot of you you guys are re-acting about the HA 6v6, just give it a try... If it sucks, ANet won't make it permanent.

I think most people never said it's gonna s*ck so much that they won't even try it, people are giving arguments on what they think what's gonna happen. Most people here are saying they would like to have a 6v6 arena, but never wanna let the current HA dissapear.
As for your Nintendo Wii argument...I can say it s*cks, I want highly detailed graphics which it doesn't offer, good reason for ME to say it s*cks. Same with the 6v6...you can allways have arguments AGAINST or FOR something before you even tested it.

I never said that my guild and allies arent going to participate in the event, or enjoy it. Look at the thread's title - it is about PERMANENT change, not about feedback on the special event. Like I wrote in my first post, I like the idea of event as a beta test for some new type of 6vs6 arena that will come in the future. If, however 6 vs 6 is going to stay in HA after the event as some kind of " sneaky update" no one told us about, me and lots of other players who enjoy playing in Heroes Ascend are going to leave. I always ejoyed work of anet, they made a brilliant game, but if they want to screw it up for me I will have no other choice. They were doing great untill the nighmarish dervish madness few weeks ago, now such an "update" would kill the fun for me.
Dont ruin something that is working great everyday. In the evenings, there are 6 - 8 international discricts in HA EVERYDAY. More in the weekends. Im not even counting american or euro or asian. This is the most popular PVP mode anet ever made.
Beta test for new type of pvp play? Sure, we will help testing it, and have fun with it. Just dont kill HA for us. 8 vs 8 forever

Well, so far some of the votes had to be inferred and several of the votes seemed be based more off of what people desired than what they actually expect to happen. Only one person voted "no" but clearly stated they would desire "yes".
Anyway, here are the results so far:
Yes - 19 votes
No - 12 votes

I agree with you that that update was not ready for the light of day, but this one at least does not involve skill changes.

I wonder if A-net keeps statistics on the number of HA matches per day and the number of GvG matches per day. During ladder lock times, I would not be surprised if the HA match count slightly exceeds GvG match count. However, during normal ladder seasons there are probably at least 3 times as many GvG matches as there are HA matches.

They will keep 8v8 HA i think, i cant see a good reason to scrap the 8v8 HA setup. I expect the 6v6 will be a seperate tournament/arena to serve as a step between the 4v4 and 8v8.
The reward the tournament provides will determine the gameplay in the arena, if theres something to grind for then people will grind it.
They might just make it like RA and give out "nice try" points towards a title rather than create a seperate rank system which would create the sort of grind that gimmic builds add to HA.

i don't think they will add any new arena or change the current ha.
i think that this is just to rid us of the common fame farming builds during the double fame event.
If they added a new arena for 6v6, ha may loose a lot of teams a proberly become deserted and have a small nuber of teams in at one time. If they made ha into a 6v6 the number of teams will increase (1 for every 3) and they'd have to reverse all the changes they made to halls, 6-way burial mounds, 8-way scared earth, 5-way hoh

And you don't think theres going to be another FoTM (or FoTW) as it would happen.... but... people will find something and then EVERYBODY will run it... its happened all throughout the times.... Think of it thisway... skills have been getting nerfed through an 8v8 enviroment.... might want to start chatting with your local Priest of Balthazar of the next overpowered thing in 6v6 that everyones gnona start running...
Just look at history for christs sakes... Air Spike, Spirit Spam, R-Spike, ViM, Smiteball, IWAY, DervishWAY, natures tranq... they are going to find something that works really really well (only by hitting ONE BUTTON "B") and hopping to observer mode. Something WILL be found and things WILL be constantly abused.

I don`t wan HA to be limited to 6.
HA lets you think out of the box, because u don`t need a flag runner ect. I don`t want less people to work with.

HA consists of small and cramped maps and also operates via the build vs build mechanic. once you got dped once or your monks are down and frozen is laid, you're gonna lose. there is no recovery, except by luck. making it 6vs6 reduces builds offensive and/or defensive capability, weakening holding builds (too much defense), IWAY(too much offense), spike(too much soul reaping), making the overall damage or heals "not-too-much" for the small maps and freshens things.
Don't blame those builds or the players of HA builds but the maps because they make sure that those mentioned builds win in there.
Of course making a new HA is less efficient and will cause more programming codes than making parties 6 man.
If HA got GvG size maps, yes to 8vs8. but now, make HA 6vs6.

Who knows, you might end up loving 6v6 and wishing it to stay permenant instead of 8v8. You have to try it to see if you like it more or less than 8v8 HA. Now if the weekend ends up sucking I can see your points but if thats the case I'm sure ANet won't implement it. Again, I stress its just a beta test. If it goes well and people like it, it stays. If it sucks, it goes.
