something needs to be done about bloodspike
I feel bloodspike that it has too many inherent advantages over too many potential creative builds, most notably mixed spike builds that I have seen no other build possess. And to top it off its been overused and abused like crazy.
one problem is the whole qz-soul reaping situation. The ability for the necros to gain energy from spirits while their enemies are e-denied from qz is too powerful for a creative spike team to handle.
the next problem is the ritualist spirits. Union/shelter/displacement can pretty much shutdown any type of non-bloodspike all the while the bloodspike can still spike through these.

but blood spike was aready nerfed and beating that is pretty easy now
.
there are many way to counter qz , a gale is the easiest one and also dont need a 100% attention from a player.
if you have some interupt sit them on the necro healer so they will interupt healing and spike making for the infuser a easier job.
if you are running a high damage build your infuser should be able to catch the spike until you make enough pressure to them forcing them to choose between spiking or healing...

I despise the players who do nothing but bloodspike all day, every day, but I don't think the build is overpowered. The poularity of dual Psychic Distraction Mesmers/Choking Gas Rangers has served to reduce its use, in fact.

Blood spike is usually beaten by balanced with CG rangers and a good infuser.
Any team with a good infuser can take down b spike.

ok, everyone stop complaining about bspike. its not going to get nerfed because there really is no way. you can counter it with CG and SB. its not only the skills, but its A TIMED group. they cant nerf when you attack, and in bspike you attack at the same time.... you can only counter it, which is very easy. People thought it up using skills with advantages like qz and all of that. Its their combination of skills that makes it good, and timing. So they really cant do anything about it.

b spike inst hard to counter unless it has a good caller and people who know what theyre doing and make good decisions, so it wont be nerfed because its just like any other spike except more effective and thoughtout. On the other hand, Practiced stance will get a nerf because for one it is a scrub skill that lasts too long, and recharges too fast. Maybe a b spike can get to halls, but capping against a team with 2 CG rangers is pretty impossible and the spikes will be too obvious because they cause most harm to their team.

blood spike is probably the easiest team to beat in HA atm
i usually run either 2 cg or 2 starburst, and both owns them, because the 2 cg + my interrupt/shock kills their spiking power, since the cg can sometimes interrupt 2 necros in 1 spike, and me and the fire ele can spike them down
and with 2 starburst, all you have to do is keep the pressure up, and they will spend most of their time heal/proting themselves, and when they do spike we take advantage and kill them off. and if your not a dumbass you will be able to kill spirits and keep pressure on the team.
but those really good blood spikes are nearly impossible to beat, and it also depends what map your playing on, ie wether you can get them balled or wether their spread out of range of aoe, and if their running a mod like the gale/warder, which can gale a cg to stop interrupts on spikes.
so, i say keep blood spikes as it is, since their wins are mostly situational. i have no problem winning against it, and no problem if i lose to a good one.

If you played anything else but blood spike you would know that you can cap.

Bloodspike has counters, alot of them, heck having a decent infuser in it's self is a counter to the vast majority of bloodspike teams.
I mean if you your losing to it because you can't stop the spike, then I'd have to say get more interupts, and take on a more offensive approach to never allow them to get spikes off unhindered.
If you have an infuser, interupts, etc.. and are still losing to it, then it's your own team playing poorly or in some cases a Bloodspike team playing exceptionally well, not Bloodspike being overpowered.

4 opp gaze + 1 obs flame is 518 damage. That spike SUCKS. You don't insta-kill anything with that damage.

kill qz ftw.
find a good infuser ftw.
when i play warrior, i generally try to dist blow/shock every time the team spikes. that's quite a bit of damage mitigated for the monks, and should make infusing easier.
here's how i deal with a blood spike: kill a spiker or two as fast as possible. kill the rit over and over, each time you take out a spiker hop on the rit for a bit, then spike him, go back to a necro, spike them, eventually they run out of rezzes since the rit keeps dying, gg.

Don't interrupt spikes,it's really not needed.
Get profane up as soon as you can if you have one.
Interrupt ranger.
Get a good infuser.
Now,only problem with this are maps.

the number of people who actually know how to run blood spike correctly is so small that it is not an overpowered build... (I don't bspike, I infuse for balanced and I only see a good bspike once every few weeks)

disrupting spikes makes the infusers job so much easier, and really helps out the infuser if it's a good clean spike (because with disruption, it's never a good clean spike)
it's the same concept as slapping migraine on a couple spikers, only that also disrupts the healing.

To get a clean spike with blood spike is almost impossible.
